How is this calculated? with BO5 there is possible to have even 10 battles

But you only have 8 teams per group so why would you need more than 7 ?

Unless we're talking single battles, than it doesnt make sense either, cuz you need to play up to 35 battles, and 3 days per 7 battles doesnt reach possible 35.

well i kinda expected to play a single team BO5 till a winner with like ~2 teams per day and a single one on last, but true, if you are playing with every team once per day it makes sense.

So we play two matches (up to 10 battles) per day.

Now it makes sense :)

For a moment I even saw what goup am I playing at, now it's all gone :(

Gotta admit I was pretty happy with it, hopefully no reshuffles :D

Just to clarify:

Each evening you have 2x BO5 (up to 10 battles max), only on last evening there's 1 game.

Some groups have 7 teams and will have a slightly different number of games.

Cheers!

Berbo, is the map changed after 2 battles or we do play all possible 5 battles on same map?

I still didn't get answers for my previous post. I think those things are important to know before the battles.

Hey there

I believe you took the rewards part wrong. 200.000 will be split on 20 so each player will get 10k gold, not sure how's that better than 150 dollars for the first place

other post for tiebreaker is not relevant anymore, see other topic about the important update. I'm waiting for the news article to come out, if it isn't already.

Cheers

Hey there,

Nice spotting :)

There were 2 articles about A.S., one which says "register now" and other one which says "last chance to register"

Bo3 was in the main register now article and got fixed (see the original article) and the rules were the same but for some reason the bo3 from the first article reappeared again in the new one.

Main reason which could explain this is that the articles were written a bit in advance and only 1 got fixed.

I'll try to change the one you posted as well here.

To confirm once again, it's BO5

I never said it was rewarded better than the first place, first place is indeed rewarded the best. When I said the 3rd-4th place is rewarded better than the 2nd place, I took into account the 1 year premium time the 3rd-4th place gets. If you add up the 10k + 24k (1 year of premium costs) it is in total 34k gold which is better than the 20k gold you get with 75 dollars.

However that wasn't the question I meant to be important, I was just wondering what was the idea behind the prizes. The important info I wanted to know was about the tiebreaker rules, I didn't notice you already wrote the info, sorry.

I have one more question. If a Bo5 battle ends up 2:1 for team A, does team A get 3 points or is it a draw as it uses to be in some tournaments?

You are correct that prizes are not so different, and I believe the money holds bigger value than gold so I think most of players will prefer it even if it's the slightly lower value.

In BO5 the system will record a win only if 3 wins are recorded. 2:1 would be a draw.

Cheers!

Berbo can you please clearly state what happens in a case of 2:2 in BO5 scenario ? There is an info about the voting and so on, please clarify it fully. :)

Hi, I have two questions regarding prizes.

A. We have 34 groups, top two qualify, which means 68 teams will qualify for First Phase Playoffs

B. As per Update, in First Phase Playoffs, teams will be divided into 16 separate groups, so groups will have 4-5 teams each.

C. Prizes for First Phase Playoffs:

  • 2nd place: 20,000 gold
  • 3-4th place: 10,000 gold
  • 5-8th place: 7,000 gold
  • 9-16th place: 2,500 gold

Q1. With 4-5 teams per group in First Phase Playoffs, it means that minimum prize will be 7k gold per team?

Q2. First Phase Playoffs will play as playoffs (single elimination), or as group (each teams plays all other teams in group)?

We made an announcement about this, please see the other pinned topic in this forum section.

Q1 - Yes

Q2 - It will be 16 single elimination play offs, so think of 1 play off as one group of teams. So if we say in 16 groups it doesn't mean it'll be round robin :) I see why this could be confusing.

Each winner of these 16 play offs will advance to the 2nd phase groups where they will play round robin (every team plays every team)

I hope this explains,

Cheers

Well first of all, thx for the intensive support via forum.

But as someone regularly involved in organisation of tournament schedules, your tournament schedule appears to not even meet basic qualities, while being kind of overprocessed.

Any team meeting a better one in the first single elimination phase will automatically drop. So in theory, when ranking all teams in correct order, every team on an even position might get kicked out: 50% error. Even the average error rate would already be 30% (4.25 teams per SE group)*, which is horrific. Conclusion: Continuation with a group stage after a single elminiation round is useless. No competitive event will ever apply this system (Imagine the football world cup with 30% of the best teams missing...).

For the current amount of teams a system like:

  1. group stage & cross-over
  2. group stage & cross-over
  3. double elimination

would seem more appropriate.

Thx for your consideration.

* The precise value is a bit lower, but then the math becomes more ugly.
