Hi everyone!

I wanted to make some field math on crew exp with all the modificator active during a Top of the tree special.

Played on my T-57 Heavy Tank i've got for a win:

694 base exp

1041 due to premium account

2603 for crew member

5206 for selected crewmember with "accelerate crew training" active

given that is active the x1.5 for a battle and x2 for a win, i wonder why my math wont give the right numbers:

The last count is correct, cause 5206 is 2603x2, as explained in the wiki (the least exp member earn x2 exp).

For the other, i thought that i have to write: 1041 x 1.5 x 2 = 3123, that is experience given in the battle report, x 3.

But, extracting the multiplier from effective exp: 2603/1041 = 2.5.

So, how i get  the x2.5 multiplier from x1.5 and x2? what am i missing here?

Multipliers are additive, rather than multiplicative, that's how you get the *2.5. Try reading the multplier of x2 as "You earn an extra 100% xp on top of your base" and the whole thing starts to make sense. You only earn the base value once, after all.

So the formula isn't 1041 * 1.5*2, but it is 1041 + 0.5*1041 +1*1041. = 1041*2.5=2602,5, rounding up to 2603 and we have the value given for base crew xp.

Some multipliers are additive, some are multiplicative. 1st Victory of the day, top of the tree "missions", crew XP events in general and personal reserves are among the "additive" ones. And indeed it is better to read those additive ones as +100% baseXP (in case of x2).

On the other hand, accelerated crew training and premium accont are examples for multiplicative bonusses though.

It's +50% and +100%, not x1.5 and x2

Thx guys for the fast and precise answer. Yea, got it... so the "BIG AWESOME SUPER BONUS x2!!!" is rather a +100%, and

x2 x3 x1.5 are in reality +100% + 200% +50% for a total of +350% instead of a x9....

You little deceivers at WG... >.>

Gonna look forward at crew xp guide on the link ;)

Cya on the battlefield

Actually, it is pretty funny that you mention it, but there is a certain truth:

- all the bonusses that are additive are named/marked as e.g. "x1,5", "x2", "x3" or "x5" (e.g. first victory, double/tripe crew XP events)

- all the bonusses that are multiplicateive are named/marked/advertised as "plus 10%", "plus 50%" (e.g. Mentor skill, prem account, prem tank crew bonus)

Yes, I know it is not totally true, the personal reserves are described correctly as "100%" for example. But still, it is weird :)

Wow, a thread where OP has a problem but instead of ranting about how the game sucks and how he will never spend a cent on the game he politely asks what is wrong with his line of thinking.

Then three replies, all answering OP's problem and pointing out his mistake in a calm, productive way.

Then OP comes back, acknowledges his previous mistake and even promises to read an in-depth guide about how the game actually works!

I'm getting worried here, am I dreaming or have I suddenly warped into an alternate dimension or something?

That's the way forums work, even here.

Loonybins questions get troll responses, sensible ones get sensible ones.

Of course loonybins OPs here outnumber sensible one 20 to 1.

Thx man ^^
I have my own problems with the game, but it is what it is. And i am an engineer. So, all event in the game is wrote with the math, and when there is something that i dont understand, the only way is to go and find the formula. Simple as that.

Only complain about the crew exp system is not give a good explanation ingame.
Cheers
