I don not use any mods and support this, if WG will really make penatlly for cheaters. When I suspect in cheat I just report as unsport playing and than let WG look. And it seems to me there are a lot of cheats out there, for example just in few days I had 10-15 suspicious situation like for example, where enemy tier disaper on open river betwen me and 2 more tiers from my team, or did not pen with strong TD from 5-10 meters, with full aim, med with really poor armor etc.. And I am not sure, but I think one of this, it was match where I almost do (although forget on mission, because I do not trying anymore) my LT15 for t55a and did not because of this cheater. So yes, penalty all cheaters!

We’ve outlined a clear list of illegal mods that we will share with you here and now.

Oh really? I really cant see other than same list that has been there for ages and which leaves only questions about many mods like already seen in this thread.

This is great news

Extra info is cool.  Customisable look/feel is cool (aim reticules, team lists, etc.)

Aim bots and wall hacks have always been bad (I'm showing my age).

I use QuickyBaby's mod pack.

It's got that arty "Battle Assistant" thing that helps with the clicking.

It's also got XVM (obviously), which helps with focusing on the unicorns :B

<It's a joke guys, calm your jets ).

Step1 : select res_mod

Step2 : right click on it

Step3 : select delete

Step4 : click

Step5 : profit

Great move(!!) but the " clear list of illegal mods" that you mention is nowhere to be found.

In it's place there's a vague list of functionalities that leave players without knowing what to do.

So good ideia terrible execution.

What people are trying to say is, is this mod allowed: http://forum.worldof...snappingaddins/

AutoAim Snapin. It locks the target at a slightly wider angle than the regular "aim lock", but once locked does nothing else.

Its not allowed:

Block Quote

Auto-aim or so-called “aimbots” that provide more functionality than the “aim lock” in the vanilla client, specifically including those that aim at the enemy's weak spots and/or lead the aim automatically so that a cheater can focus on maneuvering their tank

Thing is, it does not aim at the enemy's weak spots and/or lead the aim automatically. The vague provide more functionality is something people seems to want defined, and they are hosting the mod on their website. I guess if no WG employee answers this directly I'll just go report the mod and topic and see if they do something officially. If they let it be and says it is all good, then we know that as well. Just wish, when they post an announcement like this, that they could have someone that is uptodate on the announcement follow this thread throughout the day and reply to peoples queries.

Already declared illegal earlier, same with the mod that colors trains etc. so they can be seen more clearly.

This is a welcome move,

Im still not sure about the status of Autoaim + which is vanilla autoaim but with the ability to lock onto an enemy by clicking near the enemy tank rather than exactly on it.

Since I have dropped using it till I find out for sure im good.

Be a pleasant surprise if it was added in 9.17 though  ;)

So auto aim+ is considered what? It could be considered in category 2?

View Postj4l, on 08 November 2016 - 02:25 PM, said:

Advanced AutoAim+ Mod lets you autoaim without targeting the enemy exactly. Illegal?

What about showing HP Pools (Armagomen)? What about Damage Log Mod (Gambiter)? What about Direction Indicator Mod (Spoter)?

What is the armor viewer? Is it the view of the effective armor at aimspot like in meltymath mod or are we talking about hit zone skins?

View Postdennez, on 08 November 2016 - 02:32 PM, said:

And what about the clickerview / Battle Assistant mod?

View PostFunByAccident, on 08 November 2016 - 02:38 PM, said:

Please provide clarification if autoaim+ is also considered part of this. If so, please add zoom out mods to the bannable mods as well, as they improve the ability to use auto aim as well among other things that could be considered an advantage.

Thanks for stating out what is cheating and what isn't but some of the the descriptions is still quite vague. I still need a bit more clarification on a few points.

Can anybody from the support team answer if these mods are now considered legal or not:

1. Spotted enemies indicator. This mod shows a directional alert on enemies which are spotted/have vision on you/closer than certain distant. link

2. Reload timer only for the last enemy tank that hit you. Shown in the damage log area, not on the tanks models.

3. Prolong the duration of 6th sense icon on screen

4. Autoaim+. Let you acquire auto aim easier by just clicking near an enemy tank.

5. Battle Assistant. Allows you to have angled artillery view.

6. XVM in general. Hitlog, Damage log etc...

And so it starts.  This will never end now.  One day the forum, the internet and eventually the entire known universe will be taken up with arguments about whether a given mod is banned by WG and if so why.

Its not allowed:

AutoAim+ does not change the way the auto aim lock works, that is the whole point. And if it is illegal to change the way you activate autoaim, you should ban zoom out mods as well as they give you options to look different at the battlefield and enable you to activate autoaim much easier.

This article is another nice clickbait from WG... Good intentions, bad execution. Also fair play? WG is allowed to ban you without giving evidence... Lovely.

Why isn't XVM in banned list mods, it has no positive contribution to the game itself

Actually it does what a gunner suppose to do.

Like i said open-ended disputable categories hard to understand... Mods has names.

Most important Question,

whats about Zoomout and Viewrange on Minimap. Both give you a decent advantage as you can see if an enemy behind a house is looking into your direction or not.

Mods that do provide a gameplay advantage, one that we think is bad overall for the game. These are classified as a cheat and are illegal going forward.

Aim+, Team HP bar, Zoomout?
