Videos like these are how the WoT battle tutorial should have been made, not that 'Battle Training' thing that doesn't teach you anything about the game.

A truly tutorial after 5 years of the release, at least better than nothing, looking forward to a series of this kind of tutorials.

The description of optics/bino "up to 445m" will mislead player to stop increase ther view range when they got 445m, it's better to rename it to spotable range.

How to spot in a real gameplay situation:

Drive 150 meters. Proxy spot the enemy.

News flash: it's not working. Vehicles just teleport. Same as always.

Unicums found a ground-breaking solution for the teleport issue:

Don't close your eyes for a minute every 2 seconds.

Last one was good outlining the idiotic system of tanks staying invisible while most of them is sticking out of the bushes in plain sight and magic barrel spotting mechanics.

Let's see what we can learn from this one.

Edit: Oh damn this *IS* that video but WG EU is slow yet again making an article 7 days later.

So as above, idiotic checkpoint system (where most of your tank can be sticking out of cover as long as you hide certain bits you still won't get spotted even at point blank range) combined with barrel spotting is all you need to know.

Did we all watch the same video ?

There are seven points which get you spotted and given they are front rear sides top of turret and gun mantle you have to pretty much cover the entire tank to not get spotted.

Ok you can have a corner of the hull sticking out but short of adding 4 more points on those which is a bit overkill they have it pretty well sorted.

Really don't see the problem it rewards the player for getting better at spotting and better at hiding.

You should add those videos in the game, or even in a launcher. Game Mode > Tutorial > Game mechanics. Players with less than 1,000 battles can get some gold...like 300 in total for watching every video and saw like 90% of it, or maybe some tier 2-3 premium tank. Players with more than 1k battles can get some credits. It will encourage every player, good or bad, to watch it.
This video is really good, I knew the mechanics, but I watched it anyway to see how good it is. Big plus + WG, but now you have to find a way to encourage some players to watch it.

We did indeed watch the same video. As you can see that light tank is at pretty much point blank range and 1/3 of his vehicle is sticking out on all sides yet he does not get spotted.

If anything these spotting points should be on the corners of the bounding box, no in the middle.

Sure the video mentions that "the spotting mechanics work" which is not the same as being good or logical.

But it's good to know how it actually works now so it's easier to abuse the broken mechanics for all of us, that is true :teethhappy:

Nope, you only have to cover the actual spotting points.  It only takes a tree or pole to cover the side and turret ones, then you need a small rock or bush to cover the front or back one, the ones on the far side don't count (though bizarrely you can spot tanks through other tanks).
