I was just having an idle Friday afternoon at work, listening to stuff on my mp3 player when it dawned on me I have quite a lot of cover versions in my collection. I've also stumbled across a few on YouTube that impressed me.

I'll probably get some hate for these two, but I don't give a rat's furry butt crack. Nickelback are a good band and can turn their hands to other peoples' music surprisingly well...proving they don't just do slick, radio-friendly chart botherers.

I was prepared to be either hugely disappointed or LMFAO at this one. In the end I did neither. These Cali punks claim to have been influenced early on by the likes of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and here they show their metal credentials to the full.

A brilliant version of one of my favouite REM songs. LC put their own unique gothic metal twist on it.

...and here is their cover of the Depeche Mode classic...pretty much faithful to the original.

If anyone else has got any favourite cover versions, feel free to post them here.

NICKLEBACK COVERING ZZ TOP  Well music is mostly about taste, but I'll say that tastes are like buttocks divided, but also full of crap. Just had to :B

Well to be honest why does the vocalist copy the voice of the orignal vocalists? Personally I like covers that are true to the original, but has the band's own touch on it.  What I really mean by that may be hard to put down exactly, but dubstep covers are just no.

You can easily hear that is quite different from Metallica's usual style, but also quite different from Thin Lizzy.

This is just amazing

I can't say I got many cover version laying around as I frankly don't care that much, if a band I like cover a song I usually like it anyway, but it gets 10x better if they cover an already awesome song.

Never take yourself too seriously :D The middle part translates roughly to:

- Guys, hey, I'm gonna go now, seriously.

- Hey, before you go, look what I brought you.

- Goddamit, goodlooking.. Isn't that..

- Yea yea, a six-pack!

- Oh, you shouldn't have bothered, good man! Besides, we've got those strong spirits right there!

- Yea yea, but for the morning!
