Despite the delayed response, the original version is the way to go. M2 Light Tank is universally better (it even has a better rate of fire with the 37 mm gun, not to mention other metrics), it also has access to a 20 mm autocannon, which is devastating against lightly armoured opponents.

Way to often I see the M2 Light driving around in tier 2 battles and just run amok. Fast, well armored, and this 20 mm autocannon, usually driven by relatively experienced players. Try to face one with your new L-60, you have literarely no chance. It's as balanced as the Matilda in a tier 4 battle. The british M2 is usually nowhere to be seen, however. Mainly because it lacks the 20 mm gun, I suppose.

I have played both tanks - and preferred the British M2 despite it being a little sluggish , as the final gun is accurate and hard hitting at range

and you really don't need gold ammo very often -

the M2 Light is a decent tank and if you use the auto-loader is a great drive-by killer and the tank's 37 mm Gun M5 ( 2nd gun ;) is accurate -

that's the gun I used when I grinded it ( and won the Ace Tanker ) - The M2 is one of the fastest tier 2 tanks and is decently armoured

However I sold my T2 Light premium tank ( didn't like the play-style ) - and it has weak armour and a poor gun unless you fire total APCR

I much prefer the Locust as an  American Premium Light Tank crew trainer - and rarely need gold ammo in games ( so make credits )

It depends on which Map you get , which is best Mittengard for the M2 Light , Mines for the M2 ( sniper )

M2 Light is the seal-clubber's favourite tier 2 at the moment: it's fast, has reasonable armour, and with the autocannon can wipe out a typical tier 2 in seconds. For some reason the British M2 is 3 tonnes heavier, so it's slower, but seems otherwise identical.

The prem is the T2 light, which has no armour and unfavourable scout matchmaking that means it can meet tier4. A bit unfair as it has pretty limited view range, so makes a poor scout. I bought it when they killed off the T-50/2, in search of the perfect scout and enjoyed its phenomenal speed for a while, but the current map rotation does it no favours.
