Let me explain the low number a little.

The number is so low because we used very conservative, specific conditions in determining which players were to be sanctioned. These sanctions are incontestable--no appeals will be considered--so we wanted to be 100% certain with this first wave that those who were sanctioned were done so with reason.

Keep in mind this is only the first ban wave, and the numbers will not necessarily stay this low with subsequent waves.

And no, we will not be publishing names.

Good to know.

Guess the WoTreplays site serves a secondary function now because that is how you get your hands on client side replays the most easy and extensive way. :)

You maybe ban some players but, game is free to play , they will make new accaunts, and i think prem. ban wont do any good for wg $ :) "no offense"

This statement is so contradictory I don't know how to approach it.

You're saying banning people will force them to make new accounts and buy premium tanks/time.

Then you say it won't be good for WG's turnover?

That aside, it's a step in the right direction. Sure they can make new accounts, but it will act as a deterrent anyway because people don't want to waste all the money and time they've already invested in the game. It's easier to just uninstall the mods they have downloaded in the first place. Simple risk vs reward. As the risk increases, and the reward stays the same, people are more likely to not cheat.

Well done.

Nevertheless, I would like to know more about the situation. More details would be nice.

I think no names because when 7 days ban pass ppl will go type name of player and send private message to that player and harass him.

You mean, specific WN8 make you freely use cheats/illegal mods?

Hohoho...I love searching clans and seeing who is banned...let's hope more cheaters will get what they deserve. Also one IMPORTANT THING...as far as campaign is concerned, WG should not allow players who are banned to win a reward tank...the reason is simple. Since you use cheats in order to stay high in ranking, you get NOTHING...!!!

I support the decision not to release any names. Naming & shaming just means feeding the lynch mob.

Glad to see action is being taken at last, although I wonder if a permaban would not have been more appropriate. After all, according to Cynd3r it has been established beyond doubt that these players have cheated, which means they get to keep the stats they achieved unfairly. Ah well.

@ cheaters: I'm sure you'll feel very sorry for themselves, but don't think you will get our sympathy. Using cheats to get an unfair advantage in a game is beyond pathetic.

Joke?
If you don't see purple in randoms there is only one reason: 5th campaign
