WG- you should demonstrate the using of illegal MODS. Send me prove which show me that I am using this MODS (it is like police arrest you with no prove). WG can not identify if somebody are using this MODS just in case WG installed some programs which are monitoring your personal computer without the owner accept…. – THIS IS ILLEGAL.

Did you upload a replay to WoTreplays.com? If so, that might be how they found out.

Imagine, a *massive* archive of client-side replays at your disposal to trawl through in search for unusual things.

Good.

The first step: I did not use any illegal mods.

The second step: WG can not know if use illegal mods. (Unless WG lawlessly spied on my computer.)

Do not you understeand, your logic implies that, you actually use illegal mods, just you think/believe, WG can not find out what you use?

Why do you need the "second step" of arguing, if you are clean?

because wire doesn't block using illegal mods? Is slow, costs system resources and requires uploading ton of data to internet?

U play this game u accept all the rules, you open box with all it has in.

Where did you get that, bots (all bots?) pay for prem days/gold?

At least 30% of people who run a bot program to grind their sh<3t pay for premium account, and some percentage of those pay for gold to convert from prem tanks for free xping.

This is because of the way economy of the game has been set up. Bot + lowe + prem acc + 1/2 shots of dmg per game = profit. Rinse, repeat.

Use those credits to bot trough the line or flash a wallet again and convert lowe xp to free. Viola.

The other 70% tries and uses it from time to time, but mostly just give up since its not feasible.

3k ban is (less than) 1% of the player base.

Having 1 cheater of 100 palyer means,  - roughly - we meet 1 cheater of every 3 games.

Is it realistic?

Or do you think there are more illegal mod user?

@al72 and that other guy:

Dude, you cheated, got caught and got a temporary ban. Just chill for a week, don't do it anymore and all will be fine.

Crying on forums only makes you look even worse than cheating and still having 48% win rate lol

I still do not know where did you get the number?

Did you just imagine that 30%?

Or you (or someone else) actually made some investigation?

Not necessarily. They could be checking the signature of their own files. You don't need to scan the entire computer.

They've already stated that their investigation is thorough and that they do not ban anyone without certainty. If you got ban they have proof, but they've been loud and clear that they won't release the information.

You probably didn't read the terms and conditions (most people don't) that is updated every patch and your consent is most likely in there by accepting them.

You have an excess of faith in WG. They've also stated that they won't allow 'pay to win', and so premium vehicles shouldn't be stronger than elited non-premium equivalents. AMX-M4-49, Skorpion, T26E5 anyone ?

Don't get me wrong, I wholly support what they are trying to achieve here & it's a step the right way. I much prefer WoT without wondering whether my opponents are cheating ;)

Especially with 'no appeal', though, there is the potential for people to have mods which are borderline and which they honestly believe are legal who don't understand why they are banned. That is a Bad Thing.

Clear watertight ban criteria will always be a big ask, but having "Mods that do provide a gameplay advantage, but one that we believe contributes to the game in a positive way" [no ban] and "Mods that do provide a gameplay advantage, one that we think is bad overall for the game" [BAN!] is only slightly clearer than mud. So the 'arty view' that got Mod of the Year (which , as an arty player, certainly adds gameplay advantage) is clearly in the first of the above 2, and OTM reload count-downs, being quoted as a bad example, are clearly in the second.

But what about being able to snap your bog-standard Auto-aim onto a target that is spotted but behind hard cover ? Does this "provide more functionality than the “aim lock” in the vanilla client" ? It certainly doesn't aim for anywhere other than centre of mass, or lead, or have any effect on how Auto-aim works, so is making it easier to task Auto-aim  'added functionality'?  Gameplay advantage is limited (as there's no use trying to USE the auto-aim till the target is >50% out from cover anyway). Just one example.

They could help address this by publicizing - to both banned players and generally - exactly what mods they are banning for. I can't see why that would be a bad thing - by definition that list would only include mods that WG are already giving out bans for, so the argument previously used against publicising bad mods, that "it will encourage people to go google for them & install them", would only hold for particularly dumb players :)

I am starting to wonder if the ppl crying that they have no mods, don't actually know what a mod is and have just unzipped an archive in their WoT folder on instruction from a clan mate.

I'm not sure which is worse, a cheater , or an idiot that doesn't even know he's cheating.
