Had this with 9.17 and new laptop with GTX 1080m, so no shortage of horsepower.
Was sorted by using windowed borderless mode (not fullscreen) and runs fine 120fps+ with max settings

Few days ago this started happening to me:
I play a game, die, tab to check something on youtube, go back in game and I see my seetings set to high from maximum automatically. Felt really weird, but I switched them back to maximum. Few days after that, after the begining of the battle my game crashes and restarts itself on lower settings. I am stting, stunned, watching. This happened twice yesterday as well. Funny thing is that I had no issues with FPS or overheating. I run vsync and play 99% of the time with 60 fps steady, flawlessly. Thought my video might be overheating so I downloaded some apps and did stress test to see if it was malfunctioning. No. Everything normal. I even took my PC with myself to work, so I can clean it with a compressor. If it doesnt fix tonight I will write ticket to WG to ask them if they know of some bug or something. Here are my specs:
GTX960 4GB
I5
SSD Harddrive
16GB RAM
Hope it gets fixed soon!
Same.
No problems previously.
Now I have to re-start the game every 10 games or so as the performance becomes progressively poorer.
Runs flawlessly for several games. Then suddenly effects can set it off. (I.e. I get hit and the game stutters for several seconds before the 'ding' and various effects go off, like a big spike lag). Annoying as when it happens I am completely unable to react because the computer is too busy spazzing.
And the game will run flawlessly once re-started (I can even watch the replay and it will play flawlessly).
certainly a problem with the game.

I never used XVM to begin with, as the fps-drop is simply too much for my computer.
version 17.1 I am getting 1 fps and a ping of 600+ since the new update. No problems with the previous edition. It even staggers in the garage screen and has become un-playable . I have never used XVm and it is not installed on my PC.

Go to WG's support site and look up the article to run a PingPlotter graph. Post your results here. Also, look at Task Manager and watch your resources especially while in the game. Chances are there is something running at/near max and that will cause issues. Even something accessing the disk, running a scan, or updating in the background will cause issues like you've described. There are more things to read/try in the Tech Corner part of this forum.
