I tend to play very dangerously...
Everyone so far has a minimum 61% win rate and at least 2500 max exp! with minimum 850 average exp per game....

Well, if that doesn't support Overlord's opinion of tier 5 lights being overpowered, I don't know...

Although he explicitly stated that his statement was a matter of personal opinion and no official hint to any "nerfs" to be implemented soon, these numbers do worry me a little bit.

My chaffee does not feel overpowered if I am in an average game (meaning a game, where I am ranked in lower third of the tiers participating), but so far, any nerfs that had been implemented where reasoned by two ... uhm.. facts:

1) average win-% of vehicle
2) average xp gained of vehicle

Seeing that both these values are far beyond average, we should embrace for impact sooner or later...

What I am wondering about though is, why the average xp is this high... here are my
possible reasons for that, but that's just some assumptions:

1) xp-gain adjusted to match that of a tier 7 vehicle, since tier 5 light gets classified as such by MM?
2) hidden bonus-xp gained due to vehicle being end-of-line?
3) hidden bonus-xp to seduce players into converting to free-xp (sort of belongs to 2) )
4) xp gain rather high because hits damaging high tier vehicles get multiplied xp-wise due to tank being "only" actual tier 5?

If anyone has an explanation that goes beyond my guesswork, please enlighten me  ;)

Only 52% winning on mine but only played 51 matches so only recently got it elited.

As for the amount of XP then its easy to answer. Accurate and fast firing gun that is able to reposition itself quickly. Lots of hits, lots of damage done, lots of XP.

I can only guess to but i think the reasons the chafe gets so much xp are:

a) its tier 5 that is matched as tier 6, automatically the opponents are bigger, the bigger the fish the more xp
B) its a light tank, and i think the light tanks do get a better multiplier on xp than meds and heavys
c) even if you are not a true scout like king leo and 502, you do spot large number of tanks, and you get a share of every damaged tank you spoted (with 460 view range its hard not to spot anyone :D )
d) you have a gun capable of damaging anyone in the game, with huge dps and dirt cheap ammo you have absolutley no reason not to shoot all the time what a lot of ppl do

Another reason i think that makes them look OP is that chaffe is end of line tank, not so attractive as the other two, so only few players go for it, and they tend to be good drivers overall...

i just hope they dont nerf chaffe, maybe increase its tier spread, but i wouldn't want it to get changed in any way (besides fixing that turret proportions  :Smile-izmena: )

Dont play it like a T-50-2 or VK2801, and you will do better. If you think you can rush ahead, and dodge bullets in it, you're in the wrong vehicle. It's fast, but no where in the same league speed wise, and thus dont benefit from being hard to hit while driving. It's tricky, but a lot easier to hit a chafee than a T-50-2 running at full speed.

With the view range, try standing still in a bush occasionally instead of rushing. And dont shoot on things unless you know, you have a tactical advantage, i.e. somewhere to dodge behind, or being able to circle your enemy uninterrupted. Also know which enemies you can circle and which you cant. When spotting, you get 50% exp of the damage others do to your spotted targets, which in some cases result in massive exp.

It's a fun boat to sail, and extremely potent when played well.

Example on how to play it in Prokhorovka.

Prokhorovka plays unusually in the way that its usually empty in the middle. That is where the Chaffee should go. I spent an entire t9 match just driving in the middle, spotting enemies in forest path and using the landscape to shield myself from their guns. Around 1400 XP from that match and some nice comments from team-mates on nice scouting.

reason xp gain is so high is simple

You gain XP mainly from damage done with a modifier to tier differences. Chaffee is a tier 5 which regularly damages t8/9s and actually is quite good at it.

For that simple reason the avg xp is much higher then on standard tanks

Hi.

Hm, I hope I can get similar stats with my Chaffee, too. I bought him this week and after 30 battles I still hate him. Paper thin armour and the stock gun is useless against Tier 8+.

Yours

tom!  ;)

armor will not change, your armor is only decoration on chaffe, your strengths, after fully upgrading it, will be: view range, gun, acc on the move and agility... try ou use and enhance those strengths with modules... i use binocs, V-stab and coated optics... so i have good view range while on the move, superb view rang while stationary and ability to hit enemy at ~300m while driving...

average spots per battle: 4,67
average battle life time: 4min 10sec

average damage per battle: 697
average kills per battle: 1,22
average spots per battle: 4,66
