HI guys, very new to clan wars and yesterday was involved in my first few fights with another clan. It was 5vs5 or 6vs6 not sure lol but anyway the options were tier5 and 6 vehicles. Now unfortunately I have moved on from tier6 and my only available options at hand were a Nashorn and a type 59-16. I really like both those tanks but they really didn't appear to suit the clan war format where the weapons of choice appeared to be mostly the Cromwell or T29 which are both mobile and have very good pen and dpm, they hunted in packs and quickly cut through my light little Chinese tank, the Nashorn was a fish out of water, I landed 2-3 hits but was quickly put away by the racy nimble packs of mediums and lights.

So which of my currently available options would you recommend and why?

Germany - VK30.02 (maybe a little sluggish)

               - VK28.01 (Has a lovely derp and very quick)

Soviet     - A-43  (unlocked never bought)

-T34-85 (I liked this tank, found it a little bit weak hull armoured and lowest dpm)

               -T150  (unlocked never bought)

US          -T37  (I liked this tank a lot, had great pen but also an auto loader at the cost of pen)

-M6   (Maybe a little big and sluggish for fast moving packs)

French   -AMX12t (unlocked never bought)

Thanks for your recommendations and opinions, the more the better :)

T150, T37, A-43, and VK 28.01

T150 because its simply armoured, and has a nice gun with a decent accuracy and good damage.

T37, one of the most used ones, nice gun depression, nice accuracy (gun handling in general)

the other 2's are pure FC preferable. So T150 and T37 first off. the others are pure dependent on the FC ur playing with.

Open maps: T37 and one or two 59-16 can really wreck havoc in a well coordinated "yolo" push

Corridor maps: O-I, T150 with one T37 to spot

Mixed maps: Cromwell (B or regular) with a couple of T37

Avoid arty since one tank at Tier 6 is extremely valuable. If you don't have those tanks you should get them as soon as possible.

Thanks... if you had to pick 1 (maybe 2) and why?

If I had to pick 2 of your list T150 and T37, just because they are good on 95% of the maps, I can say 100% easily. And because I explained why ;)

If I had to pick 2 tanks which I want people to have in their garage of tier 6 it's T150 and Cromwell B.

First pick T37 because it's the most versatile tank in Tier 6

Second T150 because it's the best heavy (O-I is good for blocking roads on city maps but T150 has excellent rounds to easily penetrate its armor)

Thanks, those two appear to be the way to go by the look of it which is good because I actually really enjoyed the T37 when I had, the only other question then is would you go with its top gun with the higher pen or go for the quick hitting auto loader?

I believe that the Type 64 is also a viable choice as well...

I don't recall any of our guys using the autoloader in the last campaign so go with the higher pen / semi gun.

A premium.. just looking at that since you mentioned it, its only 3500gold and its mobility looks absolutely great fun!! 390 view range is very nice too... :)

For CW I don't recommend it. Less HP than T37...For skirms it is good farming tank.

you can compare here: http://tanks.gg/wot/compare#t:t37.c:type-64

It can indeed be great fun, it has really great DPM, nearly half a second less reload than the T37, better mobility and camo, but it's gun lacks a bit in penetration, so it might struggle a bit against O-Is and T-150s if faced from the front/angled. Another thing to note is it's low ammo capacity. If I remember correctly it only carries 40 or 45 rounds of ammo, and considering it's low AP pen APCR heavy (or full APCR) loads is something to consider...

7 Churchill Gun Carriers is and always has been the best tier 6 setup for both skirmishes and clanwars.

Were you doing SH or CW? Because in CW you know the map in advance so you have more tanks to choose from, if its SH then i would suggest a mixture of fast tanks (T37, Cromwells, maybe a KV85) since you don't know which map you'll get and O-I/T150 get destroyed on open maps against fast setups.

Thanks guys, from the choice I have at hand the T37 is clearly the popular choice for the job.. that said, if I had the Cromwell would that have been the choice? I have up to and inc the tier4 of the Cromwell line, maybe if it is THAT much better than the rest I should grind it out?

T37 vs Cromwell?
