Yes, firstly, i know that there is a post dedicated to this on Support. But i changed my phone number, since for some reason my old sim card burned (???), so i had to get a new sim card and thus a new phone number. But now i need to remove my phone number from my WG account since it is such a pain to have it. And here is the problem. I need BOTH, old and new, phone numbers to remove my OLD phone number. But my old one is destroyed, and there is no way i can prove that i have purchased gold.

Is thhere any way i can circumnavigate this knot?

Last ten or maybe more times I've had to get new SIMs for myself and other family members it has kept the same number.

You see the problem here, from anyone but your perspective it looks like you might not be the rightful account owner.

Agree with Homer. I've had multiple sim cards on different networks and always kept the same number.

Shirley you'll have PayPal/bank records of your purchases?

Huh, dont know, but i guess i could ask the store about that. But  if you can name 1 thing with which i can prove that im the rightful owner of this account, what would that be? For the couple of years i had been using my old phone number for small amounts of gold, because i live in Greece, and PaySafe cards, which is my prefered choice of payment, is blocked due to Capital Controls.

Edit: I mean sure, i cant blame them, but i got a new phone number. I dont think needing both phone numbers is neccessary. Just an email confirmation would suffice if you ask me.

Well, sadly i dont use paypal. At this point i think im being suspected of being a hacker. I only ever use prepaid cards for any means of web transactions neccessary.

The whole idea of attaching the phone number is that someone can't take over your email (which is all too common) and then take over your WoT account.  If you could just reset the phone number by email it would make the whole thing pointless.

Don't tell me, you only attached the phone number for the free gold.

Unfortunately that's the only way WG can handle it.  If they let everyone reset all security details just on their word then WoT would be rife with account takeovers.

Well.. no proof, no reset ..

That would be like being thrown in jail without any evidence

Well the reality is that i was sharing my account with a "friend", but since some incidents took place i put my phone number in. So guess it backfired. But i can see that paypal is the only way i can prove it seems

That is correct, you will have to answer some questions and provide proof of purchases.

Went through that some years ago to remove my phone no.
