More Americans died in auto mobile accidents in the 4 years between 1917-1920 than had been killed in battle in Europe during WW1,

At the time it was up to the car dealers to teach the hew owners how to drive "especially the brakes"

and at the time people were used to shouting at their horses and pulling on the reins to stop the horse,

so when they started driving and needed to stop in a hurry they would automatically shout whoa or stop and pull back on the stick, of course the car did not stop.

I just got the facts of a tv program i was watching perhaps they had the wrong dates.

Still sad and funny though,

can you imagine someone trying to stop a car like you would a horse.

There are 1.28 times more fatal car accidents in United States of America than in Germany (compared to the number of cars).

Spoiler

And Germany got some no speed limed areas.
