Why the un-necessary hurdle of forcing the player to go to the website? what is Hootsuite and will they get my email address?

It's just a tool we use for various contest, giveaways, social media campaigns etc. Data you enter is managed by Wargaming only, and you are right, we already have it anyway but we still need to identify players who want to participate.:P

Block Quote

Why isn't this an in game mission?

Mission is something you complete and get reward for: we have these every weekend. This is not an in-game mission because of opt-in and fixed number of prizes. If you want to participate, you need to sign-up. Believe me, it's better for you this way. Or would you rather have the prize go to a person that didn't ever know or care that contest like this one takes place? How would that be better?

Anyway guys, that's a chance for you to get free stuff if you play with Chinese a bit.

It is totally extra stuff that you can choose to opt-in or opt-out. If you do not like it is not good enough, just ignore it and move on.

Why? You have a perfectly good missions tab in the game. e.g. "Complete this mission and enter a draw to win any of 113 prizes including 3 T-34-3s for those players who hate having gun depression!" Why do I have to worry about my personal details when WG is communicating with me? One of the nice and helpful tips you get on the loading screen is (iirc) something like "Nobody at wargaming will ever ask for your details" and here somebody is. If the intention is to communicate with players the game client seems to be an excellent way of doing so when you already have that functionality.

You have a giveaway, thats great, I certainly would need some sort of incentive to drive any of my chinese tanks right now. It just smells fishy, asking for personal details and hosting on an external site.

How will choose a winner? The greatest amount of experience or winning percentage?

We will pick winners only among those who sign-up. I wish it was millions :) Actually your odds to get one of the prizes are bigger than odds of losing/winning 7 battles in a row. Judging by forum threads where players complain about losing streaks, I'd say that's pretty good :B

so i keep my personal losing streak on 11 battles in a raw ..does that mean im like certain winner of anything? xD

Maybe you could tell how the winners are "picked" you roll a dice between eligible entry's?

If so i'd say that's pretty pointless, as this game needs even more rng. :hiding:

Hmm... you have a choice to play some china tonk and participate to a lottery. Why so negative?

Sometimes there are perfectly good reasons why things are done the way they are done, and those are not evil reasons.

1) it is a nice thing to actually register for the event, since the prize will not go to a random account miner.

2) Difference between in-game missions and hosting the registration on the specialized site is in the risks involved in deployment. Simply said, such contest can be implemented by the community team collecting the participants and running a script over the exposed WoT APIs to get the eligible winners. Putting content in game probably means way heavier QA cycle.

Anyhow, its free and optional.

Yes. We all want another contest, that needs 10 hours per day, mega skills to be eligible to even participate.

Grinding the Type T-34 atm anyway. Very doable to get those wins now the crew finally 100%...aslong MM doesn't throw me in a Tier 7 match. Also just bough the 59-16 to sit in bushes all day.

Not getting anything out of the contest isn't a concern, but participate nonetheless.

Not to mention it's not even through HTTPS.

I would also like to know where I can see how many victorious battles I have fought for this special. During the Tripoli special I could see this under the mission tags.

I have lost the count of failed fully aimed shots... at 20 mtrs or less.

Even one at point blank range, sidehugging a su122-44... go figure...

didn't bother with the tripoli mission not going to bother with a microscopic chance at getting a fraction of the tripoli rewards for driving tanks all of which I dislike more than my  british, french and german tanks.
