Hello fellow tankers!

I'm here to ask for some help from more experienced people. First of all I'll post my current configuration:

- Mobo:  Asus h170-pro4s

- CPU: Intel i5 -6600 3.2ghz

- GPU: Ati radeon r9 280x Toxxic (3 gb of video memory)
- Ram: 8 gb from corsair 1333 mhz

I can run world of tanks everything maxed out and it goes smoothly at 61 fps all the time. But (there's a but sadly), after some time, i see the fps going down to 48/54ish. Honestly I do not understand why, the only thing that is a bit heated is the gpu (72° while playing) while the rest is below 38°c.

Could it be that temperature too high? Or might it be anything else?

Thank you all in advance for the consideration,

Regards!

Temps aren't a problem. Have you updated your drivers? WoT isn't demanding enough that you shouldn't be getting 60FPS constantly.

no, because my rig has worse specs and i hit 80fps most of the time.

@OP are ypur drivers up to date and are you using catalyst drivers or crimson drivers?

That's nowhere near hot for a GPU.

The issue has been reported by a number of players.  You can try rolling drivers back, that has worked in some cases.  Or restart the game every few battles.

On maps like Ensk?

(There are a couple of maps which have unexplicable performance issues, even maps with the smalles size)

I have the same issue on some maps (pretty clear)

set lighting and shadows to medium or high - maximum is not needed imo.

water quality also draws a lot fps, set to medium for more and stable fps.

if using AA try to disable that too.

(not going to remind you about up-to date chipset, gpu and other device drivers aswell as clear wot %appdata% cache and a successful "disk cleanup" of system drive.)

also, what windows version are you using?

(build number please)

you can also add your dxdiag file here :)

you're using 8GB RAM running at 1333Mhz?

That's interesting as DDR4 runs at 2133Mhz minimum, so I guess you mean that. The GPU temps and CPU temps are normal, I'd say it might be drivers or just WoT being WoT. Even with my system, which is somewhat similar, except I have a more powerful GPU, I sometimes have drops to 40-50fps for no reason.

@WafflePanzer yea sorry, I wrote 1333mhz by mistake. :)

Thanks to everyone guys I've tried what you suggested and it worked, especially updating drivers and stuff. I do believe I'm using catalyst drivers, what is the difference with crimson?
I'm happy to hear 72°c isn't a high temperature for a GPU, was a bit worried about it. And yeah, there are a couple of maps that sometimes feel "laggy", guess it's not my problem only.
