I am looking for a new headset. At the moment I am using the Razer Kracken Chroma. What would you suggest for the best sound in WoT and mic?

I use separate mic and headphones because I mostly use headphones anyway and not so much the mic.

I use the budget superlux HD-668B. Good sound. Comfortable to wear. good price. 30€ now on the German amazon.

For the mic I use the clip on: Zalman ZM-MIC 1. Costs around 10 €

Hyper X Cloud 2 are still the best for the price. Miss their comfort.

I had before something from Medusa, can't remember which one. Good price for quality.

My astro A50's are the best I've ever had sound wise. But they are a tad pricy to be honest mate. I bet something could be found just as good for cheap.

I'm using Asus ROG Orion headset, good but fairly expensive.

Love my Astro A50 for the times when on TS .... but prefer sound in the Bose QC35 ... that can be used for TS but then your sound/mic isn't that good (or I didn't manage to set it up proper ... one or the other...)

Wireless ftw for sure! Must've tossed a few with wires into the bin over the years while playing drunk :D

Mostly I just play with some external speakers hooked up to the laptop ...

I'm using a Razer Charcarias (?) for... uh. I think it's about ten years now. Best headset I ever owned, both mic and sound. Comfy to wear, somewhat easy to clean. After 2 years the volume wheel stopped working properly, so that both ears have slightly different soundlevels now if I tune it up and down... but apart from that, it's a sturdy little thingy.

Was 70€ back then, I think. Would not invest that much money again.

For best sound you need DAC and real headphones, there are wide range of both, I end up with M-Audio Super DAC and ATH-M50x. For mics I personally went for Blue as it seems its very rare to find mics with physical mute-button nowadays.

Of course this is somewhat overkill for wot only, but it will work for any computer related sound needs.

If you use your computer in combination with a "guitar interface" (or keyboard or other musical instrument) which uses ASIO drivers, I wouldn't recommend a USB headset.

You will run into conflicts.

Using a Sennheiser HD 414 Limited edition

and a Sony ECM-MS907

And Push-to-talk (I hate breathers...)

Best sound? Like Ulicum said, DAC + Headphones and maybe a lapel microphone (you get them for less than 10$ and they sound great). I use HiFiMan HE400S with NuPrime amp.

http://www.head-fi.org/ try to look for more information here if you're interested.

I have had two Medusa headphones which are OK at the budget, but are "open". At Christmas I was given a pair of Sennheiser "closed cup" sound deadening headphones. The difference in WoT is huge because (a) better quality headphones, and (b) huge reduction in background noise from the surroundings. If you have wife, kids, dogs, cats etc the effect on WoT of cutting out the general background home noise level makes for a real life difference to what I was getting with the Medusa headphones.

Agree with this and if going from a Razer headphones as I did, this one (probably others too) will work with Razer software surround sound etc as the software cannot tell the headphones you use.

Think I more or less first enabled the mic in win10home ... then in TS selected it there ... had to click around a bit before I was done though :)
