and why would you need dual card support?

my game is running on 3840x2160 with all details etc on ultra with constant 61 fps (my max). And I don't have the best pc or gpu in town.

/edit: and why for the love of god do you post this in the newcomers section?

He just has a "rocket" pc and wants to brag.....

The game does not need support for those since it works fine with current single card tehnology. I have a 750Ti with an i3 and it works perfect at 60fps in fullHD.

Not all games launched even today outside of the AAA titles released by the bigger companies support sli/cf. It's just not very high on the priority list, especially if the game isn't the most demanding there is. And considering WoT was launched over 5 years ago to a core market of peasants who live on a 300€ monthly salary I don't see sli support as the number one thought that comes to mind, let's first get that second CPU core properly running at least.. :D

You know you could've just written all of that in 1 post, but I guess quintuple posting inflates your post count..  WoT runs on max settings with a single 290x easily, so just disable the other one.

I think the multi card expectation is multi monitor support not just best of the best maxed gfx. I guess fewer and fewer normal folk have the disposable income in the decade of austerity?

However from what I understand from YouTube PC tech programs the days of AMD and nVidia investing in multi cards as a solution are just about over so it will not be in a devs interest to waste time on it anymore. For multi monitor support I've seen add on aftermarket hardware that is supposed to manage that, so?

Multimonitor gaming is already possible in wot with a bit of tweaking, my friend plays with a triple monitor setup just fine.

I thought SLI/crossfire didn't give you more monitors, just more oomph.

Anyway it was always for people with more money (and time to get it working) than sense because dual card setups were always outdated by the next generation single card and well before any titles came out which could make full use of the performance.  You were always better off saving your money, getting a single card and upgrading.

Yep. The one and only reason to get an sli/cf setup is if you want to the absolute best of the best setup possible and pair two of the most powerful cards that are available at that moment. Otherwise you're always better off buying a single card.

It's a good thing then that WoT's graphics are potato enough for any single budget level card to run the game without issues.

The original SLI was from 3DFx and was for the addon VooDoo card series. You needed a Gfx card and 2 Voodoo cards, and this setup still only had single monitor support. When nVidia bought the pattern off 3DFx its flexibility increased to multi monitor support as another option. AMD has its own version called crossfire to keep up with the technology.

As I understand it though to get more monitors you have to run them as two cards and sacrifice the extra performance.  And you don;t need SLI to run two cards.

I would like to see proof of the claim that WoT doesn't support SLI or Crossfire. Generally up to 2 cards works ok. It's with 3 cards or more where most games really bugs out...

PS: WoT on 3 screens is awesome, so much more peripheral vision!

This game has no mening for SLI or Crossfire because its performance is excellent on low end systems and high end systems.

People how want to play on multi setup monitors have benefits when WoT support SLI or Crossfire for that extra power over 2 cards, so yes anno 2017 it stil yerks and is not great on SLI or Crossfire.

I have try in the past to run 2x 270X in crossfire in WoT but no way you get it to work right , the second card does nothing or less then 30% workload and gain was 5-15fps more then on a single card.

SLI neither works fine or even wil not work and the game hangs.

sad but True,  But Wot is not a very populair game like Battlefield or Call of Duty whit much more support and develop for the big money.

WoT is a game that is played by a small groep of people over the world, in Europe the game has less gamers in France or Germany and the Netherlands the most people who are playing this game come from Russia , Tjechie,  Polen, Bulgaria that kind of country's. (never seeing a English gamer from Britain playing WoT ! )

But sure I like to have SLI or Crossfire support in WoT for multi monitors,  one card is not enough power unless you buy the latest GTX1080 to play al setting on Ultra on two monitors in HD.

4K is also great on a GTX1070 single monitor, but to expensive for the most jonger gamers rater 12-16 years.

That's why Crossfire and SLI is important 2x GTX970 or R9-380 cards wil do the trick to play on 4K settings ultra and the cards are now cheap to buy for the budget gamers ! .
