So after having Paris in the game for some time now, most people have been able to form their opinion on it.

The map is highly focused on heavy tank combat, and if you dont have armour then you can pretty much just go back to the garage. The "field" is just a suicide range and the "city" is for tanks that can soak a good ammount of damage. Personally i think this among the worst maps ever to be added to the game, and thats why i wonder what other people think about it.

The map is completely unplayable if you are bottom tier, even even worse if a bottom tier light, medium, paper td and so on.

The map is completely locked down until one of the flanks get opened up, and its simply not possible to leave your position without being exposed to fire.

I think the map could be better, but it needs a lot of improvements, the first thing i would like to see is a heavy tank corner with more rubble and stuff on the ground to use as cover , because the map is clean and smooth everywhere. So many tanks struggle because the only thing they can do is trade shots. If you look at himmelsdorf, the map has lots of rubble and scrap everywhere, which makes it easy and a lot more comfortable to move around. The "field" on paris needs more cover aswell, higher hills and more static objects, because currently its almost impossible to move across the field without taking fire, very similare to malinovka. This is the reason why tanks without armour feel trapped on this map, the heavy corner will get them killed, and the field is just requireing them to wait until a flank opens up.

In general i think we need to stop with the corridor map madness, its ok to have a few of them. but when almost all the maps in circulation at the moment are corridors, then its just too much.

Tbh it's aweful to play on. The map is badially an intersection and a field. Either die in a corner brawl at the only spot you can fight or die to camping TDS and arty on the field. No real option. Even if you managed to win the field the enemy can still pretty much shoot you in the open while having a corner and bush to hide behind while you have to push unless you want to be shot to pieces by the enemy that killed all your tomatoes in town.

The only thing to do is make it a 4km2 large area of the town with more possibilities to move around in fast tanks.

I like it. Mostly good experiences so far.  Second question should have an option "fine as it is."

This map is piece of... ekhm... it's bad map like all new maps (Kharkov, Stalingrad, Pilzen). Generally I'm lingerer because I think that around 50% of wot maps are bad (overally or for some tank classes). Maybe I will make a topic with pictures describing what I don't like in each map and wait for response (maybe I don't know how to play some maps even I have around 20k battles)

I dont have that much of a grudge with Stalingrad to be honnest, because its still possible to play it with all  classes. But i agree

L2p its one of better new maps. So full of corridors even a retard should be able navigate it.

It is really a heavy only map. Other classes can use the north but that is really just an open field dice flip. Horrible map. It does look pretty but that is not a particularly good argument for keeping it.

Just get rid of the scrub trap aka field part and it will be good.

All the city maps are crap.I prefer open maps, like Salient.I don't like being forced to play heavy tanks when I don't want to but that's the way Wargaming have been going with maps like Paris,Pilsen etc.

Well you can do a lot in every tank class IMO. I especially like that there are multiple high/low ground places. Worst thing in this map are the players who think that their tanks are one trick ponies and go camp in the north. Even if the one spot in the south is mainly for heavies, you can easily give fire support / flanking shots with every other tank class there. Most wankers just refuse to do anything else than kemp bush in the north and either die last in their team or have minimal contribution for the winning team.

I like the Paris map very much and when you are brave enough to try different things on that map you are quite a happy tanker most of the time. But I do understand why passive players and those who don't want to receive even one shot do not enjoy the map.

Best new map in a long time!

It is one of those maps which would be fun to play if people actually knew how to play. This is a map that needs people to work together. So, obviously, it doesn't work at all.

At last a map without 101 rubble. I guess all hulldown tankers rage on this. It is big enough to flex through middle - mostly its empty. BS that its a pure HT map - you can get flanked pretty easy.

Too much death zones on the midle. Creat some cover spots and it would improve a lot.

Ok so if the north is garbage and the south is for heavies, where do I play my Centurion Action X?

Spoiler

Still in the negative but I am softening up to it. I think having a lil bit of cover on the center square would be a good addition. Place a fountain there so one could take the risk and drive over for some sneaky cross fire action without being an open target from every single road.

Paris is far from the worst. But it has a "beach" of it's own if you will. I don't mind playing it on any class. The biggest issue that map has is not the layout. It again how people play it. When the HT flank is outgunned and swarmed. The middle area and the field will still camp in a 7 vs 2. And not swarm it and flank around fast. That's the only issue that map has. How people play the field. It's usually way to passive. Even with more guns.

It's a terrible map and no amount of reworking is going to save it.
