Your main priority should be gun. After that, go for engine or turret. Make sure you have enough load capasity to mount the new modules (upgrade tracks if needed).

Equipment wise I would go for Rammer, Vents and GLD. If it is possible (probably not) to mount Vertical Stabilizers on KV-85, do that first.

Skillwise go for Sixth Sense on the commander and Repairs for the rest.

With the KV-85 keep in mind that it actually has two "top" guns, one a 100mm and one 122mm. From these the 122mm has better alpha damage, but it suffers from a horribly long reload time and terrible accuracy and dispersion figures (meaning how much the aim goes wide when you move the tank), so the 100mm gun would actually be the gun I recommend you to use. You can try both, of course, the 122mm can be quite fun in a good matchup, but go for the 100mm first and see about the other one later on :)

As a general rule of thumb, for any tank you should always try to aim for the best gun as fast as possible. Better gun equals more damage per game equals more xp and credits and a much more fun gaming experience after all :izmena: It might require some math, some tanks can simply unlock the best gun and mount it immediately, while some tanks will need the upgraded tracks to support the weight of the gun and possible turret upgrade that you need to get the gun. The last two modules to upgrade should be engine and radio, with radio being the absolute last.

Completely wrong, sorry to say.

Anytime you want info on a tank, its pros , its cons and its steps to upgrading ..... all you need to do is check out http://wiki.wargaming.net

So for the KV-85 you would go here

How is your crew on your KV-85? Go for repair skill on all members first.

Really?  Seems an odd route to take, 11k of research on an engine using a stock gun on a tier 6 heavy.

It seems you need the turret before you can get the gun.  Which undoubtedly needs the tracks or enhanced torsion bars.

Upgrading the gun will earn you exp faster, upgrading the engine is just a nice to have.

Equipment.  If you have no free exp then you can skip the track upgrade with enhanced torsion bars.  Stick a rammer and vents on if you can afford them.  After that GLD.  Ignore the wiki's advice to put optics on.  A blind tank with +10% view range is still a blind tank.

That seems to be the more popular choice but make sure you research the 122 before going for the IS.

just remember, you only have 2.8° of gun depression. Don't go up the hill on Himmelsdorf! etc, etc...

Aye, didn't bother checking if you needed the turret or not. I always keep one of those track thingies in depot. Quite useful for saving free xp.
