Hi there.
the ru 251 is one of my favorite tanks in the game.
when the new tier 10 lights come the RU wil be tier 9 so u had to give it  a little buff/nerf.  BUT

in 19.17.1 it has   2,322 dpm
in the sandbox server and in the first public test server it had like 2600 dpm and it became tier 9
they nerved the speed so everything is good nothing has to change right?......

second public test nerved the dpm to 2,057    WTF

idk where this comes from but OR set it to 2,322 OR to 2,600  comon

what do you guys think?

There was nothing wrong with the gun, aside from the slow AP shells. We can argue if the better penetration and APCR make the gun better, as now tracking shots and penetrating is easier.

But for me, the essence of a light is to have a fast firing, accurate, low penetration and low alpha gun, that is meant to de-track, shoot weak spots, destroy lights and make itself more of a nuisance, than a damage dealer, with the main role to scout.

Something completely different:

After the patch my RU has lost it's camo.

Was it switched to the new SPIC at tier 8 or was there a refund?

The extra view range does make a big difference now - fighting with vision has been brought to a new level. I find it kinda worrying how I manage to out-spot most lights and break the camouflage of many tanks. I would have still preferred the DPM over the penetration.

But I wonder - should I swap the rammer for a V.Stab. Lately the accuracy on the move has not been as blessed as it used to be. DPM is no longer the tanks second name, and with the view range and acceleration, it seems like this tank is better suited to shoot from distance and hit-and-run, without getting into trouble too much. Yet, the slower reload will force the tank to avoid light on light fights, which happen when fighting for a spotting location. Along with that, should I ditch the Camouflage skill of the commander and replace it with Reconnaissance (current skills: BiA, 6th sense, Camouflage, Sit. Awareness)? Vents and Optics are not going to be replaced - I need the extra mobility and view range.

Both DPM and gun soft stats need a buff for the RU to be competitive. Having paper thin armor that gets overmatched by basically any gun and thus penned at any angle is such a huge downside that the tank needs to be good in other areas to be competitive. Currently the T-54 ltw is far superior.

I have both, like them both, but the RU just about edges it (no German bias at all, I promise);)

tbh, the T-54 ltw feels a little sluggish in comparison - maybe it's just me, but as long as fun is had, nothing else matters right? :)
