I'm Irish so not familiar with the term.. we use in some parts I think, to describe something really good "wow, its a hum dinger" but I'm not sure what that meant either and sort of cringe when I hear it.. VERY rare. Every second person on this forum seems to be a Dinger member.. explain please?

Oh ho ho ho you've done it now.

Prepare for this thread to be spammed with epic smiley propaganda, gold ammo praises and an unhealthy obsession for fish

The question is not what a Dinger is, but rather what it is not.

dinger
ˈdɪŋə/
noun

  1. ForumInformal
A Low life degenerate lurking on the forum during work hours under the pretext that they're "Writing an email", making annoying posts and stubbornly arguing with an equally stubborn forum user, achieving nothing.

Sorry, serious question in the OP deserves a serious answer, so I'll refer to m'learned colleague from a time when all-chat was a thing.
