Can someone tell me how to maximize my gaming performance on macbook pro? Any tips welcome.

Also, does anyone know if wireless connection is worse than cable for game performance?

Step 1: sell macbook pro

Step 2: buy a PC

There you go.

I use wireless and play with 100-120 ms usually. But, sometimes my ISP magicly gives me 50-60 ms. This difference really makes gaming performance better.

My macbook pro never really got above 30 fps, but it's a 2011 one. My hackintosh desktop runs WOT happily at 50-60 fps. I recently installed windows on a second ssd and got 120 fps on max settings. Moral of the story, the mac wrapper, as nice as it is of them to make it, really hurts performance. If you want to increase performance I guess you're going to have to partition your hd and install windows with bootcamp.

Watercooling should do the trick. Macbooks have decent hardware but they thermal throttle like crazy ;)

/Joke

Seriously though, I love my macbook for anything non-gaming related, but for any game that is graphically intensive (Anything more than LoL) I stick to  my desktop PC.

wireless does affect how well your connection can transfer data, walls and other things between you and the router will ofcourse make a difference too

wired doesn't have that issue and so gets the best rates

wireless these days is getting better. but wired is still king for performance, and imo, crucial if your gaming

plug the mac in to the router, and you should see some form of increase, if the mac book is capable of giving that

though for gaming in general, a laptop isnt something id choose

edit , typo's

Wipe HDD, install Windows.

Wireless is worse for everything except mobility.

Dual boot with windows is a start.

what GPU does that Laptop have exactly? How much dedicated RAM?

Cable connection is always preferred, as it is less like to experience

interference and packet loss, also lesser ping to some extend.

Given it is a macbook, I'd estimate the chances of it being Intel HD to be quite high.

And something along the lines of 4-8GB of RAM.

If you are playing with Max resolutions, you are gonna have bad FPS...

Play with 1920x1080 and with min graphics, should work.
