How is it possible my commander is 81% qualified with 76% repair ability

While all my other crewmen from the same tank (M6) are 100% + 76% repair ????

Doesn't make any sense when I level them all up together in the same tank

Did you start them off at 75% using credits for initial training? Could be that you missed it on the commander (who's pictured, not the driver) and started him off at 50% while the rest of the crew you set to 75%.

Any chance that you train your commander for free?

Or retrained him to a new tank with silver instead of gold ;)  Been there, done that.

Nope he only ever drove the M6, one of my first crews I put in my barracks and left there for years until today when I figure I use them on my Patriot

I rarely retrain crews unless it's a tank I know I'm never going to use again, most I just keep, this crew I had to barrack back when I had limited space and I never bothered buying the tank again so I don't understand why it's the only crew out of all my crews where the driver isn't equal to the rest of the crew

I don't remember, it's just strange that out of all my crews this is the only 1 where 1 guy has different qualification to the rest when I train them all together always

They've been in my barracks for years now never touched until today

Because the match-maker treats heavy and medium tanks the same, so if they have more heavies you should have more mediums and therefore more mobility to counter their slower tanks. Think of it as the 'random' part of Random battles.

He's been in the barracks for so long that he forgot how to command the tank? Apologies for flippancy but I suspect this is going to have to be written off as "one of them things".

I'm not too fussed about it, 20% difference isn't that much

The thing is, how does he 76% in repair, while he only has 81% in his normal qual ? To get that 76% he had to reach 100% in his qual first so where has it gone ?

If it was a retraining thing then surely he'd had less in repair than the rest of the crew but 100% like the others no ? Or even if he was a 50% crew while the rest were 75% to get that 76% in repair he must have hit 100% ?

If you retrain him for a new tank for credits or free, he'll lose xp but only from his main qualification. You might have retrained him for another tank for credits, retaining 90% of his main and giving him 90% main, 76% repairs, then changed your mind and retrained him back again for credits, retaining 81% of his main and still keeping his repairs at 76%.

Crew will always build their main qualification back up to 100% before putting any more xp in skills or perks, so even if you played one or two games in the other tank, his repairs skill wouldn't change.

Have you tried to turn him off and on again?

You're probably correct, it was probably when I went to T29, was going to move crew up but then decided against it after changing him already. Maybe, I don't know it's been so long

Ok he gets more weird now as a Commander

He's reached his 100% but now he somehow has 1% more repair skill than everybody else despite starting 15% behind them

Am I missing something or is he just a freak ?

Crew experience works on an escalating scale. As the value of the main qualification or a perk or skill increases, you need more xp to get the next percentage point.

As I said earlier, skills and perks don't receive any crew xp until the main qualification reaches 100%, so what's likely to have happened is that you only needed a few xp to move from 99% to 100% of his main qualification, then the rest goes to his skill. If his skill also only needed a few xp to increase from the last time he was at 100%, that new xp pushed it up.

You'll often see crew with slightly different values for their skills and perks. If a crew member is knocked out at the end of a battle, for example, he'll earn less xp than the rest of them or you might put the crew into a vehicle with a different crew layout, e.g. an additional loader has to be brought in, one of the other crew members takes on the radio operator role, the radio operator is no longer required, etc.

Hope that answers your question. There's a lot of detailed information in the crew page of the wiki. :)
