How many games do you have to play in a premium tank before you feel that you've got "value for money" ?

Obviously if you're "a collector" then just owning it will be enough and it wont matter that you don't play it (much).

But for me, I hate the idea of spending £35 and then not getting my moneys worth.  Now I know that low tiers are cheap and that heavy tanks tend to be more expensive that other classes, so perhaps my question should be, how many games per £1 ?

My Best value is 650 battles in my Churchill 3.

My most disappointing is probably the FCM 50t.

It's very difficult to determine the value of virtual goods in money tbh...if you feel that the tank performs as you expect it to it's "worth the money" i guess?

Never got the collecting argument. The moment WG pulls the plug on the server your collector's items are gone.

Good question. :great:

It's difficult to quantify a feeling; is it based on results, enjoyment, stats, damage ratio or simple gut reaction? I'd say I've certainly had value for money from my CDC and I'd never get rid of it although it's one of my worst-performing tanks overall. On the other hand, I don't think I've had value for money from my Defender despite some good results because I don't enjoy playing it.

What it boils down to for me is that this is a game and I play games for enjoyment and to relax, so if I see a tank in the garage and smile, it must have delivered on value for the money I spent. If I sigh and quickly scroll past, it probably hasn't.

I guess my best value would be the IS-6 with about 2.5k games played and that's even tho it's absolutely obsolete now and only gathering dust it was still worth it.

Worst one T-34-3 or IS-3A don't know what was I thinking when I bought them lol.

Nice topic btw

So for your CDC you've played 250ish games.  I imagine you are similarly happy with the Ravioli and Skoda (also 250ish games).

But the Defender only has 30 games which puts it close to the Rudy, T25, Pilot and T44-100, so I imagine you unhappily scroll past several of those too.

I'm rather different.  If I've spent money I resent not getting a payback from it.  One of my very first and least satisfying premiums is the Cromwell B, but I've played it an awful lot as I *want* to enjoy it and be good in it ... one day.

it depends on what you get back from it

my Lorr has given me a fair amount of credits, some fun, and generally has given my French crew some good level ups... the fact I have no French mediums for them to go in aside, its been generally worth the expense

my Strv 42/57 is slightly another story, I like playing it, I like the tank, I have no use for it, it doesn't make many credits either.. I think I got the value out of it.. but I still... its one of those tanks that sits in the corner and I never play

You'd think that but ...

I wouldn't get rid of any premium of tier 6 or below. That's mainly due to practicality; the lower the tier of a premium vehicle, the better premium xp modifier it receives and IMO tier 6 is the last tier where it's possible to play a 75% crew with no skills and still get reasonable results. I haven't played the Rudy that much because I haven't played Russian mediums until recently and am only at tier 5, which has a different crew layout anyway.

I've had my value for money from the Ravioli but since I bought the T-34-3, I haven't played it. The crew I put in it for training are now my AMX 30 crew and are into their third skill with BiA. I only need one more French 3-man crew to go into the BabyBat once the ladies currently in it move to the BC, so it's essentially redundant as I'd rather play the CDC for whatever training they'll need and the T-34-3 or 112 for delivering 390 alpha bombs to make credits.

I earned the T-25 Pilot and T-44-100 from the marathon missions without spending a penny on tokens so they're staying simply because of the work I had to put in to get them. They were definitely worth it, though as a consequence I'd get rid of the Patton KR and T-54mod1 because they're similar enough to make little difference.

I agree with your sentiment but I don't resent not getting what I'd consider value for money, rather I regret being so impulsive to buy them in the first place. But spent money is gone money; resenting what I spent it on would leave a sour taste and I suspect I would have walked away from the game a long time ago. It comes down to, "if I knew then what I know now then ..." but that can be applied to so many things in life that it's not an avenue I like to pursue. :)

Completely agree with your feelings regarding the Bromwell. (He said, looking at the CDC in his garage ...)

Just remembered I seen a guy the other day with 10k battles in T34, guess he got value for money there. I think they would have to pay me though to play that for so many battles.

And half the premium tanks have had marathon missions for them. We just talking about premium tanks, I've no idea if he got it for free or bought it, does it really make a difference? ;)

For me, my M46KR was the most fun and continues to be a great tank even though playing tier 8 means more tierX battles than anything.  Mediums are my play style and this one just fit from day 1.

I have a few smaller ones that I just golded and they provide some fun (t15, Locust) but I should have just kept the gold.  I too got rid of the FCM after a bit over a year as the change in tanks/lines just made it a very specialized heavy that had the mobility and firepower of a medium with the silhouette of a house combined with the armor of a wooden rocking horse.

Type 59 was the only tank worth its money. But unfortunately it has become unplayable.
