Is this a mod thing, an automated reaction to you being spotted?

Or just sheer stupidity?

There are mods that do that indeed, that once a player gets spotted and sixth sense goes off, it automatically calls for help. Sometimes even ping your location.

One, two or all three, but this is something usually done by the idiot who hasn't done anything to help anyone else the entire battle- hence why he is alone!

It's the utter loneliness of the red line camper that elicits a cry for help when all around are dead.

In most cases it's a mod though I have seen players asking for help when they don't realise they're the last man standing (self included). At least the mod-makers have done away with that bloody annoying reloading spam after every shell's fired.

I've never seen the value of the 'help' mod. "Help, I'm spotted in A2!" How does that help me, you donut? Telling me where the enemy is can be useful information; knowing where you are only tells me something I can see on the map and I'm not going to sit there for five minutes plotting out all the locations from which an enemy might be spotting you. :sceptic:

specially if you know the player cant actually shoot from there, or has been sat behind you and hasn't fired a shell the entire game :sceptic:

ive seen E100's sitting in the far corner of abbey (usually k7, or A7, the entrance to the snakey road by the water) they haven't shot, because they cant see anything and they just don't do anything except spam "im spotted!"... why are they even there?

Now that is clearly a mod. I meant simply "Help", as in the usual in-game command.

I conflated the two lines spammed by the mod. It's usually "Help!" on a single line with the location following and some mod packs appear to have done away with the second line, probably because of spam reports.

At least, I hope it's mods. If they're just spamming for help because they've decided to push a flank on their own, then they need to learn the lesson of why that's a bad idea. Or get ready to start calling the rest of the team noobs for not following them.

And then whine for the rest of the battle about nobody backed em up/didn't help them etc. Did try it once to help a yolo but Tortoise was just to slow:)

A clear sign of Bots is when, for example that I recently seen from watching a T57 Heavy on my own team. Whilst emptying his clip on a stupid IS-4 which his rear exposed. Was also highlighting parts of the minimap for attention. Which, you can't do whilst firing as you have to hold down ctrl & click the minimap.

Another sign is when you come face to face with an enemy tank that can easily kill you. But it ignores you as if you're not even there.

depends on the situation imo

if you got a bunch of TD at red line behind you, you kinda expect them to shoot when you know they can hit the targets.... when they don't its kinda annoying...

Mostly sheer stupidity, since it is most often said by some idiot who is fighting a private little war, usually far from the nearest enemy most of the battle.

He probably knows you're no good without auto aim and doesn't think you're a threat...
