It seems to me that artillery are underpaid in higher tiers.

http://wotreplays.eu...3632647#details

In this battle, I dare say I did indeed pull my own weight, first in xp and second in damage.

RNGesus was with me as well, letting 9 out of 12 shots land on target which is a rather good result, considered the normal hit-rate is 33%-50%.

Including the rather steep 1 200 credit fine for 142 damage on a friendly tank (watch the replay before deciding if that shot was unjustified), that battle yielded no more than 6 300 credits.

It seems rather biased against the arty-class, as I reached over 1k xp even after splitting it 50-50 with the spotting tanks.

You made money in a TX game. That means you got payed well. TX is designed to run at a loss, to allow all tiers to be populated, else everyone would be playing TX & rest of tiers be rather empty.

PS: fine for friendly damage is always high, he will have received only a fraction of that as compensation.

PS: If you didn't got damaged/killed & no teamdamage done, you would have gotten 12K credits income, that's rather nice for a TX game.

A decent and interesting game, the winning of which you played a good part in. I take it that you could not hit the SW corner?

With premium account at tier9 I seem to make some credits with cola when I win. But when I'm clicking, I'm sort of in a mind set that it's not for credits or exp or what ever, just to get that SPG-15-3 done.

Pardon, but while I am all familiar with the high tier economy, I'd like to point out that the artillery in question is merely a tier VIII.

I survived the battle, although I did take some damage hunting down the last enemy arty, but I fail to see 12k profit in a T VIII as nice since it would require a godlike win-rate just to break even.

Should I bush-wank better than any other player in my team, and said bush-wanking leads to victory, I do indeed expect to get paid an adequate amount of credits.

It is also quite evident from your remark that you didn't bother to check the linked replay before replying, which kind of lessens the weight of your response.

Thanks,I do try.

It is possible that I could reach there but I figured the SE corner, and our base with it, would get overrun without my support there.

Well, since 9.19 and the Chrysler debacle, I only play the other classes for missions, so I guess it evens out.

The Lorraine 155 51 is, as pointed out above, only tier VIII and thus still should be able to pay for itself without premium account.

Good good. One or two more patches and WG will finally deploy the "final solution".

Also was fun watching Edited in ranked going berserk couse they never finish in the top 3 on a loss...

Meanwhile, I'll keep ruining the day for those wallet-warriors :-)

I don't play Ranked battles, but it's not uncommon at all to have arty in the top3 on the losing side in randoms.

Repair costs end up being lower as your survival rate will be higher than other tanks.

Anything that discourages people from playing arty is a good thing.

can't watch the replay atm, but yes, arty costs are rather high. and my highest tier arty is 8 lol, can't wait for tier X

PS: i've noticed a pattern. whenever there's an arty post, certain forumites from a certain clan mostly diss the OP, with only a few with decent comments.

I'll test my theory if I ever post a arty replay here

Low over-all repair costs doesn't help when the income isn't enough to even compensate for the shells fired with normal hit-rate.
