I've been wondering what those winch-like things on the front of the T95 would be used for. Does anybody know? The bottom picture is from War Thunder, where those things are mounted on the side of the vehicle.

my first guess was that they are there to help with the loading of ammunition, but I don't have confidence in that.

The SturmTiger had it's own crane for the purpose:

But then again, it used absolutely massive shells.

They are hoists for attaching/removing the outer set of wheels/tracks, the T28 has one set of running gear, in reality it could have a second set installed outboard to reduce ground pressure which in game is the T95

They are hoists to self install the outer track units.  The outer units are removed for rail transport.

cheers

Yea was to remove the outer tracks. Apparently they did it when it was transported by train etc as well and like Eoin666 said, it could run on just the inner tracks. T28 had something similar It would remove those so it would fit a train wagon and then tow them behind.

Note that the T28 and T95 are the same vehicle

Ahh! That makes sense :). And yes, of course, the T28 and the T95 are the same vehicle. Thanks for your replies!
