1. The game mode should be Encounter and not standard, because even at rank 4 players tend to cap which has nothing to do with "skill"

2. The unbalanced MM (heavies vs meds) decides some maps even before the game starts - again this has nothing to do with individual "skill"

3. The ratio of chevrons in a winning team and the losing team should be 10/5 or the game should reward TOP 15 players regardless of teams

4. The map rotation is just horrible always playing 3-5 same maps over and over again, this is just not fun

5. Ranked will die soon if there wont be any extra credit incomes, I am NOT shooting that much gold and I am still -1 000 000 for 4 hours of playing ranked, sometimes even more

6. The skill MM is badly designed, games on rank 4 are just campy and not fun, usualy team which camps harder wins, the MM should be like 3 players from rank 5, another 3 from rank 4 and the rest lets say rank 3, or something like that, so the games wont be that campy because 20% of my games ends by DRAW.

7. Sorting player by experience earned is also bad, there should be another point system something like 1 dmg = 1 point, 1 assist dmg = 1 point, 1 kill = 500 points, or something similar

Also I would like to point out that I have played 70+ ranked battles with 60% chevron ratio.

Number 5. You are possibly right but I suspect one of the motivators behind creating the game mode is creating a credit sink that promotes premium time purchase so it'll likely end up an expensive top few % of players mode.

Agree with most of your points - although the map rotation hasn't been TOO bad for me (will probably regret saying that).

 

-Chevron/progression does need to be genuinely performance-based, which it isn't at the moment.

-Rewards need to be based on playing the objective and playing with the purpose of winning - which they aren't.

-Players need to be ranked by their individual merit rather than which team they happen to be on - which currently they aren't.

 

I almost got to rank 5 last night but then got hammered by a dire run of losses sending me down to Rank 3.3 - I wouldn't mind but I got team-stunned/consequently killed by friendly arty in one match, the others were a mix of people camping back (leaving those of us who actually want to engage the enemy at less than 300m out to dry) and one-sided stomps which I could only do so much about. If I spam enough games I'll probably go back up again given the law of averages. So much for skill. 

 

I'll give it to the end of this week and probably leave the mode there - poncing around trying not to get spotted/shot, spamming gold ammo and praying for the correct combination of team/map/RNG doesn't really strike me as a great way to spend a few hours each evening - it certainly isn't 'fun' in the way that WG's PR people would happily squeal that is. 

 

Next week I shall spend my spare time on pursuits which are more rewarding than Rank Battles at the moment - like cleaning out my Land Rover's oil sump using a toothbrush with half the bristles missing. Or watching some paint dry. You can probably tell my initial enthusiasm for this mode which promised so much has kind of jaded by now.

1. interesting idea,but i dont really like encounters in randoms,i guess i wouldnt mind

2. true true,but it doesnt happen that often and it depends on map...malinovka with more heavies is a loss because mediums can take the hill faster

3. doesnt bother me much,i ranked IS7 with losses only which is hilarious btw :teethhappy: but if you reward even more players on loosing team,there will be even more reason to start redlining as soon as the game seems like a loss,fast tanks are already running away even in situations that could be overturned if they helped

4. map rotation is pretty bad,ruinberg 3 times in a row and such

5. im pretty sure im either in profit or at least even,i only shoot gold in is7 which is not exactly a spam tank...mediums have it harder i guess

6. nah thats a bad idea,it would turn it into randoms and it also wouldnt solve "camping for chevron" problems because its not in the gamemode itself,the players are selfish p*icks

7. the formula for exp is pretty bad,doesnt matter in randoms, but just like arty this mechanic is simply wrong in another gamemode because the games are played differently...arty and exp should be adjusted specificaly for ranked battles

OK, I am done, this mode has nothing to do with skill, it is just about pure luck if you get focused by 3 arty or not.... because there are always 3 arty per game, because the maps int he rotation are all open with no arty cover....

Awful poll. I can't vote since I don't agree with a single one of your points.

Only slightly with point 7, the current xp model is ill suited for tier 10 ranked battles, but I don't think the replacement you are proposing would work either.

Nothing wrong in capping in these modes. The problem with Standard is that eventually the enemy has to come to your base so it's possible to just camp the spawn and farm damage which often puts you into top-3. Also of course that most Standard maps are awful.

You have been already brainwashed ? How it is fun to play 3 maps per 20 games played ? How is it fun to play with full heavy team vs. full medium team in an open map ? How is it fun to play with 3 arty per side and 15 minutes long game ?

Isn't this thing still in Beta season and not actually a final release? If so, while feedback is required, why are people so panicky?

8. Removing arty and Type 5 (maybe also Maus) from ranked, bc it is obvious that skill have nothing to do with players skill playing these tanks.

 

I think we can all agree if you cant do dmg with tanks and you play arty and get to rank 5 bc you could not get rank 5 with tanks, you obviously dont deserve rank 5. It is got nothing to do with skill, and snice you are playing arty, you will probably be one of the last tanks so you will be able to do more dmg and stun+ tracking assist, does not seem to me that higher skill will bring you more reward...

and Type 5... the reason is obvious i think, no gold ammo no win, and type 5 will "pen" you every time with masive derp gun... also if he decide to press 2 key... same as arty, higher skill will not ger you much bigger reward in this tank.

9. Formula for XP earned  does not look the same for every tank to me (not sure about this if i'm wrong please correct me)

I dont know what's worng with the xp..i had one game with e100 i did 3k dmg 1,1k block and 300 assist dmg and one maus had only 1,5 dmg 1,5 block and 0 assist and he get more xp then me..it was a lost battle and i finish the 4th and that maus the 3rd and i didnt get the chevron...that xp reward it looks borken..maibe im wrong...i didnt use to check xp in ranfom battles to see if is the same..
