New player. Just got a one hour ban for team killing. Lined up on the enemy and fired as team member drove in front of me. Bugger. Not sure how that can be stopped as I didn't mean to damage him was just his and my bad luck.

if you got 1 hour ban, you did it 3 or 4 times in a row.

You don't get banned for one single friendly shot, even if it kills the tank. That hit must have been preceded by other team damage over previous games, so i'd suggest you be more careful about that in the future.

Have fun!

Try SafeShot mod, it helps most of the time.

I'm an idiot too. I thought this was a qpranger thread, and got clickbaited.

I'd still vote for him for CC though!

PS:- Lesson learned, but as other illustrious forumites have mentioned. You don't get a one hour ban for one silly shot.

Try not zooming in quite so much when you're shooting & you'll have a better idea of what's happening around you & look at the map.  Always look at the map.

Just incase you weren't aware safeshot is a mod that prevents you from shooting allies.  I've never used safe shot &'ve only ever been banned once which was for deliberately killing a platoon mate.  I've heard that safeshot can cause problems if you're trying to shoot an enemy that's close to a friendly tank.  .

You have to keep your eyes open, which is very hard as a new player. You already have enough things to concentrate on, I guess.

Yesterday I was in a similar situation. I was sniping an enemy as suddenly a tomato Tiger crossed my line of fire, although there was PLENTY of space behind me. I shot him. Later in the game he did the same while I was sidescraping. Shot him again. Then he finally got killed and I found good cover behind his wreck.

Long story short: At the beginning it is bound to happen. No problem. If you get better, you'll notice that there lots and lots of REAL idiots in the game. But those aren't new players anymore...

Safe shot is good but it can prevent shooting when green players are close to target. Btw killed a green tank by it driving in front of me, yes it happens, but didn't get banned.....

In my 16k games i never got banned although  i did hit allies by accident once in a while.

The other day was in my ISU , fully aimed in at a Defender and when i  fired hit a Bulldog. And he started raging,  calling me names. How on earth did he think it's a good idea to pass in front of an ISU  with line of sight on enemy tanks beat's me.

Depends what tank he was in. PZ 1 C gets you banned very quickly if an ally screws up ...

Having played the Pz IC quite extensively I've yet to be banned in it for unintentional team damage even though hitting an ally is fairly common.

I haven't played pz1c that much, but it didn't seem like an impossible task not to shoot teammates when I did.

It will keep happening now and then. Tragic, but sometimes a player blunders into your line fo fire.

My point is, especially for a new player, multiple friendly hits are easily done in the PZ 1 C since when you've pulled the trigger you unleash a barage of shells with no chance of stopping them. For a player not used to a gun like that it can cause problems.
