In Cyprus we have a saying '' send the madman and go after him '' meaning that you ask for someone incapable to do your deeds and you have to go after him to finish the job the way it should be done

i honestly feel like WG is the madman in this case, whatever we ask we get it in some form but its always bad or broken in some sort.

We asked for Armor to be reliable -We got overpowered premiums with no frontal weakspots and OP superheavies with increased DPM

We asked for skill rated mm - We got Ranked battles in which skill plays ''some'' role in the paper but instead it promotes redline camping and extreme sniping ( even by heavies) which results in 47%s getting rank 1

We asked some sort of showing our prestige - Epeen. instead of ''skins'' or something related, We got improved equipment that will inbalance the game way more

We asked for a more forgiving mm - we got a somewhat balanced mm which in return  also broke the 8th tier and pref mm premiums ( yay for map rotation tho)

We asked for an arty fix and we got  arties that stun you all the time  and still are capable of one shoting the lights and paper meds driving full speed. ( debatable)

I am pretty sure i miss more things like the examples above but i think it's time to be careful what you ask for :3

Thoughts?

Nobody actually asked for skill matchmaking though. All that was ever asked for was random battles except with those pesky unicums and blues.

Nor did anyone ask for armor to be reliable, they asked for their heavy tanks to be immune to frontal fire, which they got. Armor was always a tool that you used to lower your chances to take damage rather than outright not taking damage. It's value as a tool was diminished somewhat by gold ammo and pen creep, but it has always had it's worth. With the global buffs to HD armor removing weakspots and increasing armor levels to beyond broken the only way to go on is to spam gold ammo, pretty much making the value of armor worse for everything but those overbuffed tanks and increasing the cost for everyone for no real reason.

It's not that WG is just an incompetent company. Frontline had some pretty neat ideas to bring to the table and sandbox versions of lights were fine and actually playable. It's just that the competent team behind those things seem to be overshadowed by some marketing people or just a bunch of other less competent developers which just keep on ruining stuff by putting in craplike the defender, maus, type 5 or any of the recent maps really.

That map rotation is annoying, i agree with that... I think only arty players complained about that, not everyone :/

Wargame indeed made too radical changes to the game, I liked ot more before the last few updates...

seen far too many claiming skill based would be better... sigh.. they never will learn until its too late

lots of idiots going around claiming their heavies are butter too, never did learn the game

these players outshadow those on the forums by miles, you only have to see in-game general chat to see that, if the developers do actually look there, perhaps they will take action upon it.. regardless of whether its good or bad...

Those what you call developers should just play the game for one hour, and they will see what kind of mess they did.

What kind of idiot think, that huge DPM armored tank with 3,2k HP driving around won't be OP as s*** ?

And how long they will need to nerf it, will it take 2-3 years?

And this won't stop untill active players, just one foking day would not play WoT. They would be fixing the game in next patch.

TBH I liked changes in arty and MM. Dying from single arty shot in heavies wasn't pleasant experience, and with new MM you can usually have some fun even when rolled as lower tier.

We have reliable armor on some tanks, but it can be easily negated with premium shells. Some people like it, but abuse of premium shells should be somehow addressed.

The issue lies with  most of the premiums being t8, which are ( besides the new ones ;)  )  semi-stock, not much fun there anymore tbh. also pref mm tanks? with 175 pen vs most tier 9's and op prems ?

The reduction in arty numbers alone makes the rework great.

There's no real argument for the old artillery. Would you rather be dead than stunned?

PSSH. I would much rather my STB-1 gets killed in a single hit from an artillery player two tiers lower than have to use a free med kit every few minutes....

Well, when you put it like that...

World of Tanks will go down in history as one of the most successful social experiments on how to achieve the perfect mix between addiction and frustration while still maximising profits.

WG master this to perfection. I pity the fools who ever get into playing whichever game surpasses WoT in this respect.
