Have any other noticed that HT No VI goes to tier 8 nowdays. It is really shame becoz its hard to fight against most tier 7"s with that tank coz its pen is low and armor only decent. Against tier 8 with HT u can barely make any damage to them, only ligths and few meds can penetrated with ap rounds. Feels bad they changed preferential tier 7 matcmake away from this tank :(

This tank never had preferential MM !

It just suffers from 3/5/7 template MM system introduced in 9.18, like many other tanks and tiers (especially tier 8).

It always did encounter tier 8. It should be doable, as there will be only 3 tier 8 tanks. In this case, try avoiding the tier 8 (and to a lesser extend tier 7) HT by joining your mediums. It's not too slow after all.

It never had limited MM. It saw tier 8 from day one. And then it had 132mm pen, and had zero capability to do anything in +2 games. And I saw only +2 games in my early runs in it "still trying to even the WR on it from those days". Just be happy they buffed the AP and APCR pen on it. At least's it's capable now vs before in a +2 game, and can carry it's own weight.

After you train crew of japanese heavies, this tank only serves to gather dust in the garage. Not fun, playstyle completely different from the others on the line it is present. Already weak against other HTs of the same tier (O-I, KV-2 especially), as a sniper it is completely useless (because you have to take in account how much penetration, that is already low, it loses at long distance). Slow acceleration, traverse speed, everything. From 145mm to 203mm with just 1 tier of difference is too much (+ Panther 198mm). Pref. MM with actual template is a must have to this tank become useful in the matches.

I don't have Tiger I, but Tiger P that uses the same gun can frontally penetrate any tier 7 tank and be a threat for most tier 8 and 9 (except Defender), while HT No. VI is not a threat against tanks of its own tier.

Premium ammo should be the last resource. If a tank depends on premium shells to be good, it is bad.

The 88mm L/56 is supposed to have 165mm AP pen and 220mm APCR, but I'm still enjoying the Japanese Tiger.

Did take some effort to make the tank work well, good crew with BIA, repairs, view range skills etc, full equipment (Vents/Rammer/Optics), also running food although that's not essential. With that set-up you have almost 2.4k dpm and 471m view range. Mobility is good for a heavy tank and the gun has great accuracy, aimtime and soft stats, it makes short-to-mid range snapshots very well. Also the armor can be pretty decent in tier 6, works much better than the tier 7 Tiger.

Pen is a bit disappointing though. Against most enemies you can hit weakspots no problem because of the good gunhandling, but then you get the same tier O-I with 150mm everywhere frontally...

AP 145 -> 165mm and APCR 194 -> 220mm would make a world of difference in being able to engage the O-I frontally without gold and have some options against t8 heavies, hardly OP either when all the Russian t6 heavies have guns with 167mm or 175mm AP pen.

Rest assured, OP won't ever come back to this thread. Just another clueless git feeling the need to cry about something which he/she doesn't grasp. Moderators junk this please.
