Fellow tankers!

 

Today we are sharing information about the content of the upcoming World of Tanks update 9.19.1.

 

In the new patch we are focusing on improvements to recently added features that were introduced to the game this spring – the updated matchmaker and the updated SPG class. We will also make some changes to the top vehicles of the Chinese branch, add the first Polish tank to the game and a new training mode. And of course there will be more vehicles in HD-quality. Interested? Check out the details below.

 

What is the updated matchmaker about? First of all, we toughened the criteria for matching teams based on the vehicle classes – now the distribution of TD’s, LT’s and SPG’s on teams will be more balanced. We do this by not only looking at the vehicle class, but also its position in the team lists. For example: If there is a top tier LT in one team, then the matchmaker will try to find a top tier LT for the opposing team. Previously, the matchmaker was not taking the vehicle tiers into consideration when matching vehicle classes.

 

In addition SPG’s will once again be able to play in platoons, but are restricted to one SPG per platoon.

 

The third change we made changes the displayed order of vehicles of the same tier in the in-game team panels. You’ll be able to find the details in the patch notes.

 

What are the changes we are making to SPG’s? Besides being able to play in platoons, we have improved the alternative aiming mode – aiming in this mode will now be easier. There will also be changes to stunning mechanics: Assisted damage gained by stunning will be considered when calculating gun marks. We also reconsidered the conditions for getting Gore’s medal and have improved the interface for SPG aiming markers.

How about making some relevant changes to the matchmaking, and treating HT and MT as a separate classes, as they are?

Making SPG aiming easier? Is it too hard now to play an SPG? Come on.

I can't tell you the exact date yet as it depends on how the test goes, won't be too long though.

Not sure I like some of the changes but good post, thanks for the timely posted info.

 

I also would like to have the matchmaker to get "memory" like the old one so in some times you would see some lower tier tanks as well. I wrote a thread about that just a few days ago if you want a deeper analysis but suffice to say, the average tier of the tank my Emil I fought during its grind was 8.32 which is quite silly for a tier 8 tank and my O-Ho never once saw a tier 6 tank throughout its grind, leaving my O-Ho with less damage per game and less damage blocked than my O-Ni which is a similar tank that's one tier lower.

Please WG, redeem yourself by bringing back one-two tier battles into rotation....as it was in 9.18 . Give back tier 8s their living space.

Because it was so hard? Wow, plebs still can't play arta, eventhough it's easier than ever.

Maybe "easier" is the wrong choice of words, we have simply tweaked the mode to make it a little more intuitive and comfortable to use.

While the match-ups are often more interesting they can also be a pain at times.

 

When you have assault mode you really need heavy tanks for the attacking force, all to often you get both teams with high numbers of TDs, great for the defending side not so much for the attackers.

You might have to consider doing away with this game mode if the sides cannot be balanced.

 

Some changes needed to personal missions for similar reasons many of these worked because usually the top tier tanks in any game would likely be heavy tanks then mediums and TDs then lights and spgs.

Now any tank class has a good chance of being in any position it makes some PMs easier and others completely frustrating finding a game where you even have the opportunity to complete the primary.

missions need change especialy the lt and spg ones

Let me ask again, because I really want to know. When will the matchmaker be putting the same number of HT and MT on each side?

Does that include details on the changes of specific tanks, especially the Russian tanks, as it was stated before? These seem to be the most interesting changes, so the sooner we would know about what exactly is planned, the happier I would be.

Please fix tier 8 match maker, I've played many games from 6PM until 9:30PM. I have been bottom tier almost every single game.

 

I've been grinding credits, so playing my Tier 8 Prems, but this is getting silly, constant bottom tier. I just feel like cannon fodder, and it's no fun whats so ever.

 

Please sort out the match maker, currently the game is close to unplayable.

To get the remainder 25% all you gotta do is give back -1/+3 MM to Lights and their pre-9.18 stats, guns and everything else they had.
