Hello Wargaming and the Community

Yesterday i came back to WoT i paused it a half i because i getting bored of the maps.

So i played a bunch of battles with my old friends and at the end of the day it was the same feeling as always.

It feels like u play permanently the same maps and everytime u play a supportive role like a scout or arty u get the wrong maps.

So me and my friends talked about what is realy missing in this game and what is anoying at the time.

We all think it would be good if u can upvote and downvote 2 or 3 maps before u join the matchmaker.

Many games with big map pools got this feature so if u have a challenge u can select up to 3 maps u prefer to play and 2 u dont want.

I like to spot and play the supportive role but on maps like himmelsdorf and other close combat maps it [edited]me up every time and after 15 matches i dont even get 1 open field map and i thought about [edited]this usless role of a supporter...

Maybe some guys remember to warcraft 3 where u have this thumbs up and down feature before queue that was awesome.

Every player got this 1 or 2 maps he hates the most so why dont put in a feature like that ?

Maybe u get the point what i mean and dont be mad englisch is not my motherlanguage :P

Greetings

I understand what you are saying but wouldn't that add to the wait time to get into a battle?

Have a think about it.  All the LTs would vote Prokhorovka and all the HTs would vote Himmelsdorf* and they'd never ever be in the same teams.

There are times when you are on a map which doesn't suit the tank you are in.  Then there are times when it suits your tank but not others.  You have to handle that aspect.

*And other city maps

Hmm thats why u only can downvote 2 and i dont think that all heavys would rate prokhorovka down it can be fun on the hill also.

The Mappool is big so i dont think that there would be this problem that u always play the same maps with same roles.

And even if u downvote that should not be a 100% chance to get or not get the choosen maps just a higher procentage

But then, with the small range of maps available, people would become masters of an even smaller number, and the whole would become unbalanced.

Sorry OP, but no.

What we can do, is kindly ask Wargaming if they could make a few new maps instead of releasing new premium tanks every week.

They dislike it because they are always vulnerable to SPGs if spotted.

Maybe a test on the beta servers would be worth a try. The matchmaker sucks anyways so be open for new stuff :D

And yes new maps would be nice but doesnt fit in der marketing model ^^

Since i play wot again i played paris 1 time of 35 battles or something ...

I rather wait 20 secs more for everyone to vote for a map than to play garbage maps like Paris. I really like the idea. Other games have that too and it's really cool to have some influence over what map to play.

Also there should be an equal number of open maps and city maps in the map pool. And they should rotate fairly.

At times i had sessions over 1 h rotating 3 light tanks and not a single malinovka, prohorovka, fiery sailent, even sand rivers or stepps.

I like this idea, so you could boost by a small percent the chances of getting that map, like 15 %. So that way so still get Himmerldorf even if you hate it, but get a fair share of open maps to balance it out.

I agree too many maps in this game are absolute shite.

Charkow, Paris, Ensk, Stalingrad, Himmelsdorf to name a few.

Would veto them all if possible.

A veto option would result in these maps being more populated by heavies, which they also want.

I dont really understand why they think its ok to give us 10 maps, add 1 new once a year and expect us to renew our monthly subscribtion.

I don't know, I don't think this would work in wot, as said, people would just vote the ones they like for their tank, and that's not a great thing, mostly because people would never have to change the way they play, or adapt to situations, it would be a another dose of dumbing the game down

though I can see a variant of it working, the server chooses 3 random maps, and the players get to vote on which of the 3 they want, most FPS games, like cod etc.. run with that kind of system

but it has quite a few downsides still, most notable being the time taken to make a game, as well as what do you do when 2 maps have equal votings...

in the end, is it really worth adding?

They also allow players to leave or join a game that's in progress, which happens a lot in casual matches.
