Hey there.

Stock grinds tend to be painful and nobody really likes to do these. Stock tanks are slow, vulnerable and lack firepower. But, do they all? I have just recently unlocked the tier 8 German heavy tank VK 100.01 P. And I have to say, for a stock tank... its not bad! First, it doesnt have a turret to research, so its already at maximum capability regarding armor, hitpoints and view range. And the stock gun is actually quite decent. While it lacks a bit in the penetration department, it handles great and has a very respectable 320 alpha damage. Sure, the tank is slow as hell, but once I manage to get to the battle, I can actually fight despite lacking the top modules. Which was quite a pleasant surprise. So, are there other positive exampels out there...?

So, what are your experiences? Which tank is the best stock tank in the game in your opinion? (premiums and tier Xs excluded for obvious reasons).

SU-152

After finishing the line to tier 10, I returned to this tier 7 TD. I play it with the stock 152mm gun for the lolz of monster HE. I guess the lack of engine hurt a little but not as mutch as on menium tanks, but at least you have the best gun (IMO) as the stock-one

Swedish TD line, all guns good enough from start and get ridiculous penetration amount for their respective tier.

what a joke... tier 4 and 5 are horrible. wait... you are right. upgrading the modules doesn't improve the tank, so I guess you have a point.

Chinese IS-2. As stock it's basically the elite IS in terms of turret, HP and armor. And all guns have 175 pen. So you don't feel useless from the first battle.

Arguably you could say Borsig and SU-152... since mostly everyone use the stock guns on those anyway from start to finish.

Not gonna argue on that. But stock gun in the tier 6 and 7 vs elite has a huge gap in ROF. And that's even more painful then not having pen at times. Stock gun on the UDES is the exception to your rule IMO. As that gun had low pen and no ROF stock.

T29. I pretty much grinded the guns last, because I actually didn't need them to reliably carry my weight.

Borsig hands down the easiest stock grind i've ever experienced. The stock gun is just soooooo good! (Arguably the best gun a t8 vehicle has ever mounted in terms of reliability, pen, accuracy and raw output)

GUNS? Implying you were playing using the 76mm? Why hurt yourself like that.

I'd say the O-I at tier 6:

That stock 10cm cannon is as good/better than the elite 107mm of the T-150 or the 100mm of the KV-85.

Oh... wait. Right. I think I started with the second one from the previous tank. Don't remember. But that one was more than enough...

I'm voting for the Sherman Jumbo, 'cos you've already unlocked the 105mm derp gun and the stock turret is the way to go. The 76mm only seem to work when top tier against tomatoes.

Tiger II.

I don't remember any other tank which was so enjoyable to play.

I don´t want to, but I occasionally have to, and I´m curious which and how many tanks WG managed to put into the game that aren´t completely atrocious to play when stock.

Of the ones I've played, I have to give the nod to the ole bathtub (that'd be the S35CA for those that don't know)
