... what about now?

Same, more or less?

When arty was a viable damage dealer,

I used to play and grind it quite a lot.

Now I only play S-51 occasionally.

No more interest in grinding anything.

This is not a complaint, I am not whining.

I actually like this radical arty nerf, it makes sense.

I only wish they went further and limited arty to one per team.

I have a bit of both, because I like playing arty less, but if i'm not playing arty, it's much more enjoyable. Before the changes, I was playing arty because it's fun to oneshot someone once in a while, but now arty can't do that anymore (which is good), I am not enjoying playing arty. Now i only play it for the personal missions to get some grils to put into tenks.

I didn't play a lot of arty before, never really enjoyed it and it never seemed to fit into the tanks vs tanks idea I had for WoT.  I pretty much only play them now for the missions or if I want to play easy mode for a while - such as when eating food at my desk.  I do play the 105 leFH18B2 every now and then, mostly for a chill session, when I don't fancy putting any effort in as the tank is still brokenly OP and stupidly easy to play.

I can't answer, because there's no suitable option. I don't think arty was nerfed other than removed the ability to platoon.

Me playing arty less is because of over playing them during t-44-100 marathon, not the changes and probably some because not being able to toon with other tanks.

The basic gameplay is still the same, only difference is that the numbers are smaller and more frequent.

I played it more since the change because they made the missions easier and I needed some easy credits.

I actually found it more fun than I expected.

I don't have patience for arty, so never really liked it.

But now it has better rof, aim time and accuracy, so playing it is less annoying, and even if you splash for zero damage, you at least stun.

Reducing damage is a nerf, no matter what spin (stun) they put on it.

I did the SPG15 for the Obj 260 just before the patch, so I am playing arty a lot less these days. Was alredy getting a bit bored with them so I welcomed the 'nerf'.

To me arty is even more annoying. Top tier arties not even aiming for you will stun you for a minimum of 15-20 sec, forcing you to run a med kit in all tanks these days.
When playing it myself I feel that the skill of choosing targets has disappeared. Many shots are no longer risky, and bring no reward in terms of damage.

In my opion arty was worse before the patch, because

  1. shot: miss by miles
  2. shot: miss by miles
  3. shot: boom oneshot
  4. shot: miss by miles
  5. shot: miss by miles
  6. shot: miss by miles
  7. shot: miss by miles
  8. shot: boom oneshot

It was just annoying for both side. It was hard, because of RNG, to show a constant performance. Sometimes you kill a full life Scout on max speed and then you miss (fullaimed) a stationary Maus for 4 times.

Now, with better accuracy and aiming time, but less damage per shot, it is easier and less frustrating, to play on a constant level of performance. At the same time i fell more as a part of the team, because of the stun effect. And getting hit by arty is less frustating, too.

=> a good rebalance for arty for boh sides.

Have 1 arty in garage for missions.

Since patch the missions are easier, I seemed to be completing one every other game and that's in the M12, one of the worst arties

You would never have conatant games, but the good players would have way better averages due to relocating, aiming and choosing targets. Now all you have is an annoying pea shooter.

I only started grinding the Brit SPG line for CW, redundant since the nerf, so priority went to the StuG IV missions, I had to grind to tier 7 to get a gun big enough to do the SPG7 stun doofah. When I opened up the Crusader SP I ground the big gun and did the last 9 missions in only 14 battles (so they're a bit too easy IMO) not played it since completeing the missions.

I put gold camo paint on the Bish & Bert so I'm reluctant to sell them, still play the Bish a few times for an easy game while I'm having a coffee or a sandwhich, pretty much every day, I enjoy playing it tbh.

I play tier 5/6 a lot so I still get, and deal, one shots regularly, nothing has changed in that regard, I never quite got the anti-arty sentiment, I see it as part of the game - can be frustrating to get permastunned by multiple arty in a slow HT thesedays (Churchill III says Hi) or 1 shot with 0 dmg in TDs, but lots of things are frustrating in this game, so meh.

Hi!

> if you played arty before ...

I played before, but in a very small niche - only Bert. I tried several years ago with the Hummel, but at that time Hummel did meet Mauses and scoring 0-50 damage with a direct hit on a Maus was so non- satisfying :( ... Then the 0.8.6 came out and I abandoned Hummel.

WRT pool: Bert was hit rather badly - pen nerf resulted in almost no pen hits on tanks and only occasional pen on paper-armor TDs and arties. Combined with no stun, this significantly decreased bert's usefulness on the battlefield. Or with "hard" numbers: before first "nerf" was my bert's average damage ~1050. After nerf ~950. Now it's still going down. :(

BR,  Iztok

What arty is that then? I play S-51 because it had immense damage potential at tier 7 before the nerf and can still do well today, but I am getting less average damage now no matter what.

The questions are rather loaded, so I'm not participating.

I would say that the "nerf" is really no such thing, but that it's a wholesale re-evaluation of the SPG class and designed to produce a good change in game-play (that unfortunately many players are unable to deal with, because they have cast-iron preconceptions, but more enlightened and newer players can appreciate).
