And in city maps I have another problem sometimes. Same scenario only now a medium/heavy is around a corner playing peekaboo with me. I wait for him to go around the corner obviously. BUT I get shot by him before he becomes visible and then he goes back and I got like 0.3seconds to fire on his angled front armor (again pray you hit it and then pray you pen it). Meaning he went around the corner, shot me, drove back and only then he became visible, in plain sight, even if he has crap camo... What is this? Lag? Had it several times.

I got proof now. For turretless TD's who can't sidescrape this is the final nail to my coffin. Really.

At around 13:12 gametime the T34 shoots me, but I don't spot him until he goes back again after firing. My turret and other 'spot-points' of my tank are clearly sticking out. Basically this is what I meant in my other topic. Often when I'm a TD and I'm overlooking a city street with bino and everything and a heavy comes around the corner and shoot me in the face I only spot him AFTER he already goes back and thus I can't shoot him even though I'm the one laying in wait (camping or whatever you wanna call it). This is really annoying for turretless TD's. And now I got it again but this time while getting my daily T34 xp.

Can someone explain why this is happening? Is it a bug? Lag? It's rather common and really kills my TD's in cities.

P.S. Yes I play the T34 really terrible. I know.

Most people would rather get replays from http://wotreplays.com/ because otherwise they can have nasty stuff in them hooked into the replay the run by the world of tanks executable.

Your spot points weren't around the corner quite enough but your [edited]was and that's what the other T34 prob. spotted.

T34 has 2 spotting points, dead center of cupola and base of the gun barrel, which are directly in line with one another and somewhat redundant. If we take a look at the screenshots below we can see that because of the curvature of the street you can't trace a direct line to any of the enemy T34's detection points but he can see the detection point on the right rear of your vehicle. The T34 is only spotted once the IS-3 moves up on your outside:

According to https://www.youtube....h?v=RMF82fz4kDk (at around 2:30) there should be spot-points on the center-side of my vehicle. Therefor when I draw a line like this: https://pasteboard.co/e90KYNXw.jpg it should have spotted it!

EDIT: Oh wait... Those do not count for spotting enemies, and my turret was not sticking out far enough... So yeah okay this particular case did work perfectly. My bad. I should get a replay of a turretless TD having this problem.

Indeed, you had some conflation between detection points and "view-range ports" as they say on the video. Each tank has only 2 VRPs, which they highlight in the vid:

Edit: the advanced, if somewhat risky, spotting option here would have been to rotate your turret full right which may have pushed the VRP at the base of your gun barrel out far enough to make the spot.

Achibot is right, you are confusing visibility check points ( what archibot calls detection points above, i.e. transmitters) with view range ports (what archibot calls spot points above, i.e. recievers)

Yeah, I had the wrong terminology alright. Been years since I learned this myself and I simply couldn't remember the correct Wargaming words for them. I think we've cleared it up now though. My invoice is in the post, remember Elephants can't forget to pay their bills!
