Hello fellow tankers, what is your opinion to extend the tech tree and to create more tanks - any way if you look at the current tech tree we can see tanks which are from the cold war up to early 60s of 20th century. So I propose to extend the tech tree up to 1990. In historical view we will not see too many so called buffed tanks, but the game play will be more interesting - for example t62 russian med is from 1962.. Extending the tech tree will allow developers to add more nations and tanks which will benefit us all

No, the grind to T10 is bad enough right now. Introducing even more grinding??? Ugh.

If it would mean an overhaul to XP cost of tanks, yeah maybe.

There is another game for modern tanks.

And it isn't doing very well...

WWII tanks have some appeal, modern tanks don't, they are press-a-button machines, nothing interesting.

On the other hand, more tanks doesn't mean more fun.

What we need is balanced tanks, good maps, fun modes.

Who cares if there are 100 or 1.000 tanks, it's irrelevant.

Personally I think that they should extend the tiers higher than tier 10. After all it's a world of tanks, so the scope should not necessarily be limited to only WW2/cold war tanks. Also, I think that it would help the game to stay alive and be interesting even in the future, as the major nations currently in the game would be able to get new tanks as time passes by.

However I think that it would require a +/- 0 MM because with smoothbore guns the penetration becomes so high that even tanks like Maus will struggle to bounce. WG would also need to implement a lot of new mechanics like rockets, reactive armor etc.

It would be interesting if each nation could start with the first tank they even built. For instance, the British would start with Mark 1, and then the tech tree would go all the way up to what they're currently using today.

In addition to the players which is voting for NO - I don't think there will be problem to reach XP for new tiers - any way who reached tier X could choose what to do with their XP

Think also about guys which already have a lot or even all tier X tanks and could loose soon interest in the game - reaching more tiers will keep them in the game

Why to waste resources to create more buffs or nerfs which is destroying the game a little - better focus developing new nations and tanks - I really want to see Israeli's tanks and want to play with Merkava /one of the best tanks according me in the world/, but israeli's tanks are created in cold war - any way we already have a lot of tanks in current game tech tree taken by real cold war tech tree - ru251, leopard 1 and etc.

JAPTANK - this game now is including a lot of tanks which never participate in WWII - if they have limited to WWII you would never seee in the game IS7, RU251, T54/55, Leopard 1, all Polish or Chech tanks and etc - you are wrong to think that game is focused on WWII tanks!

Modern tanks means modern weapons, e.g. guided missiles.  Making traditional armour pointless.  People think arty is bad, imagine actually laser guided arty.

GPS is more effective. Punch in the usual coordinates and you are sure to hit a few in the obvious positions.

Doesn't surprise me the community doesn't want this. WG could make the balance be as ever perfect as it could be, show it and prove it. People would still say "No" only because of a few Elitists being unwilling unable to change their game style.

Those are the same people who complain about SPGs and how much they have to carry in game, how little they can farm on noobs, etc.

I know it was a prank, like the Type 5 shooting Renault FTs, but it's more than feasible to implement it. They had to do the mock-ups for April's fools, so they are bound to have them still. It is harder, though.

Yet, as long as there are people wearing agricultural attires with tinfoil hats, pitchforks and torches screaming "balance, p2w, remove arty" and other gibberish, Tiers XI+ won't be able to bron. Too saddening to see such potential going to waste, because purists.

Yeah sure, lets put 1990s tanks in the game, brilliant idea.

M1 Abrams, the very first production version (1980) that still had a 105mm gun has 450mm effective frontal armor vs AP and equivalent to 650mm vs HEAT. Oh and it´s more mobile than any medium currently in the game.

The only way modern tanks would work in WoT is with a separate modern tanks game mode and I don´t think WG would split their playerbase like that.
