What's your pick? No premium tanks.

Well, I picked prem tank and techtree tank.

FV201 (A45) (Premium)

If you wonder why, FV has good mobility + great RoF with fantastic gun handling

IS (techtree)

Big old gun + good mobility. Can trade with tanks like a boss.

Is-2 is more mobile than IS.

A45 is actually a good brawler like the T29 if you are hulldown. But I prefer the IS-2 over the IS. Same gun and DPM. But the Chinese IS-2 has more mobility, more shell velocity and more HP. So I sold my IS rather fast after I got that.

IS.
Did not like the IS2, that 1 degree of gun depression makes so much difference.

There is also the fact that people seem to consistently under estimate the A45 in my expirience. Guess it has a reputation of being a bad tank or something.

It does, but the more I played it. The more I liked it.

Same. Plus it's not like I have anything better to use as a crew trainer while getting from the Churchill 7 to the Carny.

Edit: And should be good practice for the change in playstyle too.

IS was good. But i don't know now since the coming of world of defenders. It can't pen the "weak" spot of that opremiums even with gold

It solely depends on the situation.

If on a flat surface, I'd take Tiger I over T29.

If hulldown, I'd find a way to flank.

Ah, but comrade Stalin only guides shells of Russian tanks! No seriously, while on paper it's the same gun, my experience with the Chinese 122mm gun were way way worse. It was so bad for me that I went back to the smaller gun.

No, T29 is the king of tier 7.

If I was to brawl in the frontline I'd probably take IS/IS-2 because of the alpha. Thing is the tier7 heavies are sort of rock paper scissors -game. IS/IS-2 is very good in what it does, but is not very versatile. I think if you can make Tiger l or T29 work, they can be just as good.

In terms of tier 7 heavies, I have played the KV-3; IS; Tiger I; Black Prince and T29 and in my experience the T29 is hands down the best.

In fact, to date, tier-for-tier I have found the T29 to be the best heavy I have played. Better than even the IS-3 tier-for-tier.

T29 average damage - 1438

IS-3 average damage - 1521

T29 win rate - 59.04% after 249 battles, that is nearly 7% higher than my overall win rate

IS-3 win rate - 53.57% after 224 battles

It is a beast. I Aced it by roadblocking the valley in Lakeville in a tier 9 game. Turret laughs at almost everything it encounters. Nicknamed mine 'Big Daddy'.

Black Prince is one of the best brawlers at tier 7 IMO.

Even hulldown the A45 is dead meat if the other players know what they're doing. The upper part of the turret (above the gun mantlet) is so thin that anything will go through and it doesn't have enough slope to auto-bounce. Alternatively, you can hit it under the gun mantlet and have the same effective result. The little machine gun turret at the left-front make for a great target too. For that matter, theyt don't even  need to pen. Even medium calibre HE devatstates this tank because the splash will always reach some piece of thin armour.

The A45's only advantage is that it's so rare that most people don't know what to do against it.

IS-2 Berlin has 6 degrees of gun depression... because reasons, probably.
