Hey, so I am bored tonight and am deciding to finish off some personal missions for my t28 htc in my fv4202. I have completed all bar 2 (excluding 15), which are mt-6 (do 3k damage) and mt-12. I am accepting that 3k damage will come in time in a good game, but i believe i can do the 12th. 2K damage is reasonable and I can manage that in a decent game in my fv, but the problem is the fire, I have been aiming for the engine decks and there is not a flame, what am i doing wrong and any tips?

That's an RNG mission; short of aiming for engines (or Chinese tanks in general as their hulls tend to be made of fuel tanks and ammo racks) there's not a whole lot you can do to improve your chances. Retrain your gunner to have Deadeye probably helps, though its value is difficult to ascertain. Maybe try using the Cromwell rather than the FV if you still have it; the smaller gun does less module damage but it does fire significantly faster, increasing your chances of starting a fire by sheer volume of shots.

i use my cromwell in skirmishes, i just dont feel too confident doing 2k damage in it as easily XD

It probably won't be easy, but Cromwell is definitely capable of doing that kind of damage. It's worth trying at any rate, not just because you have a better chance of causing fires with more shots, but because unlike FV4202 Cromwell actually has the mobility to easily get behind tanks in the first place.

I tried the crom, first game 1400 damage and no fires. and i disagree with mobility, obviously statistically the cromwell is way more mobile, but the fv4202 got its speed buffed recently (or was it cent? idk i have both) up to 50km/h and it feels much more mobile now.

I've never played FV4202 at tier VIII but given that Cromwell is one of the more mobile tanks in the game, it should be noticeably faster in both top speed and acceleration even after FV's buff. :amazed:

Both got the buffs. But that speed don't help much when you still bleed it away as easy as before. Thus overall the Cromwell is easier. And if you get a fire, you rack up more damage anyway. Go for Russian HT's. KV-3 usually goes up if you spam rounds near the rear wheel, or lower center rear plate to name one. Maps like Ensk where you can bully flank mid to late game is perfect for that. And where I did 3 of my 4 MT-6.

I might be wrong but aren't you better trying this in a faster firing vehicle (Cromwell)

Play a medium with a derp gun and shoot them up the [edited]in the engine deck.

Often gives you fires.

Forget shooting at engines - exept of the WT-Pz4 (wich kinda burn allready when you look at the hull) the chance of fire is way too low.  Instead go for the fuel-tanks. Russian hightier-meds (lower front) and russian KV-Type heavys (last 1/3 of the upper hull) have easy to break tanks and burn relyably.
