How do you consider this tank? It is a keeper or would you rather sell it and use the crew for the object?

It is an iconic tank for WoT, and still pretty good, but there are several tanks with very similar gameplay.

So what is your choice?

Hi everyone!

The Soviet tanks have arrived to the Supertest for some rebalancing!

Let’s go one tier lower and see what happened with the T-54. Besides significantly strengthening its turret armor, we’ll also revise the top guns and will set the roles of the vehicle according to the gun choice.

The 100 mm D-10Т2S gun that in the research tree leads to the Object 140 will be rebalanced for close-range fighting. Its reload time will be decreased thereby increasing its average damage per minute. At the same time the accuracy will be slightly decreased – this will force players to use the gun at medium and short ranges and to play in a more aggressive style more in line with how a medium range support tank should be played.

The 100 mm D-54 gun (that leads to T-62A) will have significantly improved aiming time and accuracy at 100m, but at the same time the reload time will be increased. Now it’ll be easier for it to act as a long range fire support vehicle.

T-54 is stupidly good if you know how to play it.

It's a good tank, yet the overabundance of corridor maps and superheavies + only 200 pen on the good gun (tier 9 light tanks all have more!) mean that there are a lot of situations you either load HEAT or not deal any damage. The tier 10's offer the same gameplay while being way less expensive to play.

One of the most overrated tanks of the game. Absolutely no reason to play it over E50 that does every duty except scouting better.

It's a good tank, fun to play, but I'll probably sell it after eliting it. All the "irrelevant" armour and amazing map design makes it pretty much impossible to not spam tons of heat in half your matches. The fact that you even need heat to guarantee a pen on the flat side of some tier 10 heavies kind of kills the fun for me. Basically it's just as economically viable to play my t-62a and that is better in every way...

I kept it and put perma-camo on. Don't play it often nowadays, and with the hur durr heavy powercreep philosophy WG adheres to it needs rather more HEAT than it used to, but it's still a solid tank.

I really want it to be good, but it's a damn hassle to play. Spamming HEAT makes it better, and it is rather useful for some missions, but it's not really fun. Maybe I'm sick of it after grinding out all modules and the T-62A+Obj. 140, but I never want to take the thing out. Not actually a keeper to me. Maybe after the buffs... maybeee....

T-54 was one of those tanks that absolutely needed no buffs, not as long as it can load 330 pen HEAT rounds and laugh at pretty much any opponent.

But then again WG must be seen to act like they are actually doing something, whether that is helpful to the game in general is not relevant at all it seems.

Keep it incase they overbuff it. Then sell it if you still hate it.

Marvelous tank.

Horrendous penetration, needs buffing like the Patton (which has 218 iirc but still too low).

Remove/rework gold ammo, 330 is silly on the T-54.

The t54 does NOT get a buff though, the turret buff is kinda pointless since i never get shot in the face anyways, and the guns are a huge nerf over the gun i currently have... 0.57 secs extra reload with only 0.01 better dispersion and 0.17 better aimtime (with rammer vents bia) if i change my current d10 gun something to the d54 gun in future, so idk why u guys think t54 gets buffed, this is a huge nerf, because that small better dispersion and aimtime doesnt mean anything since it is already currently good.. so no thx. WG again nerfing my favorite tank

It's a great tank if you are willing to spam premium ammo as the standard AP pen is laughable. I sold it because it just ate way too much credits. If it wasn't for that i would have kept it.

Won't this just bring the 2 guns closer together?  At the moment the 140 gun is the more accurate, quicker one & the 62a is the brawler gun.  The changes would seem to move them closer together.
