Why can WG not ban cheat mods?

All they have to do is incorperate a set of legal mods (pro mod or similer) into the options (you can take them or leave them) then get rid of the Res mod folder and make it impossible for anyone to use any other mods.

Problem solved.

The amount of cheating in the game is still ridiculous. FFS sort it out

Yeah, getting rid of res_mods will totally prevent any modifications to the client. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

And somehow I expected the OP to be a 45% WR player, since those players are typically the best at finding cheaters in their games.

Now, show us again on this doll where the bad tank shot you.

Also, I read somewhere that WG is working on a sort of mod store.

Iirc that's what they said they were planning to do in the future and offer "WG signed" mods ( modders have to upload them to have it checked by WG for foul content ) from their very own mod page. I don't know if that will prevent players from using cheats.

The amount of dumb people talking about things they have ZERO clue of is way more ridiculous. But it's rather difficult - and morally questionable - to sort that out...

But hey... what would be a forum-week without at least one cheating thread.

Dear OP...can you please help by enlightening the forum as to what cheat/cheats have incensed you enough to post in this toxic place?

Thank you.

Nice avatar.

It pretty much describes what you should be doing to yourself, though.

this place is not toxic

its a place of information advice and very nice people. However its not the place to be if you fashion your clothes from foil.

Thanks for that....made me laugh......

I follow several forums, ranging from games, to bikes, to cars etc etc. This forum is without doubt the most toxic of the lot. I used to put it down to it being a game forum populated by children, but it seems the "children" are mainly adults.....flame away....

And how many cheaters pr game do you meet? Or what do you consider an automatic cheater? Or is it something as simple as hitting your modules twice enough? Or having the magical ability to lead a shot vs a moving target enough for you to point fingers? Or are you one of those that still think everyone can see you when you are not spotted? As I was called a ROF hacker a few days ago. So what most consider "cheating" vs what you can actually do in this game with "mods" is not really lined up to well.

Res_mod is only a safety folder. As in a quick and easy way for you to removed mods if they don't work, or a way for "start in safe mode" to skip the res_mod search in you suspect a mod is faulty. As in you can put then in the res folder, and overwrite the core files and still get them to work. As that's how it was back in the day. The way the client is setup. Mod support is not going away. Only way to remove that is to rework the entire game engine and client. Not just... remove 1 folder.

Go to the COD forums or LOL forum. This is actually 100x nicer then any of those two. There is a reason I won't touch the last game with a 600 feet pole even.

so you think, in your broken logic, that removing a simple folder, will stop all manner of mod makers from using the code lines of the game?

removing that folder will do very little bar make some of the lesser mod users (such as reskins of tanks) shy from using them, it wont stop any determined or hardcore modder in any way at all

R* tried doing just that, and all it did was break the game for everyone else.. (they added a system that checked files as they were loaded, which slowed the game down for everyone else, but modders just went 3rd party.. ie, didn't affect them at all) modders still got in and went about their business..

so how do you, OP, expect WG to ban all cheat mods? because I don't think there is any games company that can do that.. and never will be able to either

the only games that are even remotely safe from actual cheats, are browser run games, and even then, bots etc.. can still be made and used... no game is actually fully 100% mod free

What proof do you have that people are cheating? just because you got blown up again and again and again doesnt mean people are cheating.
Personally, i'm more inclined to say the the game 'cheats' in that in seems to decide if you are going have a bad game or not, or it has some truly abysmal mechanics, like making you miss at point blank range, a physical impossibility. I dont believe in 'luck' or 'random' when computers are involved. Anyone and everyone can be affected by the computer 'cheating' so its not necessarily creating a disadvantge to one side or the other, but it is massively frustrating to a player when you constantly miss stationary targets by miles or have 0 damage games but made 20 hits.

Like I stated several times, you add a lot of toxicity to this whole forum. So I edited your post a bit:

"This forum is without doubt the most toxic of the lot. If not, I'lI try to do my part to make it so."

I cannot believe the idiots here.

Do you think cheating doesnt happen? or do you all cheat yourselfs?

What is wrong with wanting the game to be fair?

And i am so sorry that im not so computer code savvy that i did not realise by deleting resmod folder would not stop all cheaters, but it would probally stop quite a few.

Its so easy to go onto numerous websites and download the cheats and if any of you people here think its not widespread in WOT then you are complete morons.
