Despite what is said about Ranked Battles and such, having in-game gold purchaseable stuff would be nice, like:

  • Decorative items (helmets, teddy bears*, barrel decoratives, crosses, scratch marks)
  • Special paint (Black, Tomato skins, dotted/aircraft cammo, fire paint...)
  • New emblems (or customiseable ones - we could choose what we write on our tank)

And let's be honest about it, plenty of companies earn money this way. It would be nice to introduce player made content as well and create some sort of common market. But before going into that, what do you guys think?

Vanity items in WoT: yay or nay?

*Best I could come up with, honestly

yknow.. I always wondered why WG haven't already added special paints and livery's for purchase via the prem shop or with gold

would be purely vanity, but it nets them extra money without having to balance anything and they cant really be criticized for it either, because it doesn't actually affect a players performance (so no "its P2W" backlash)

every other game has done it.. why not

though the decorative items? would be nice.. though it would be more objects.. and then each tank would need "spots" for them.. might be a bit of coding for this to happen.. though would be nice to have a bunch of skulls or something draped over my tanks, make them look a bit like something found in horror movie, but then, no one would ever see it because > :bush:

but I agree, would be nice to have these things.. provided they wernt too expensive

A long winded and over elaborate excuse for the OP to say he wants a teddy bear on his tank. Don't bring the Console juvenile bad taste to the PC, it was bad enough with clown tanks and yes, black camo. Fair enough when you are kids, but you grow up and have to shamefacedly look back at what you wished for.

And why not?

As long as it is done in a way which is in keeping with the atmosphere of the game.

Unlike the Patriot and Libertie camos.

So basically this will never, ever happen.

I am all for vanity items. I'd love to pimp my tenks with some personal touches.

I think they should focus on things that really matter first and then work on vanity items..

Well quite, they still haven't introduce the tank horns which they said they were working on several years ago.

Riiight. I bet you would buy a shedload of animals (well, cats) for all your clan war tanks the moment they appear in Premium Shop :)

Of course they need to address higher priority issues first, but having a few guys model and develop vanity items on the side should not be that big of a task. Balancing, for example, does not require a 3D artist.

We need  physics model to support jelly-like materials.

After that I want a flaccid protuding thingy I can attach to tank. So I can wiggle my tank and the thing shakes so enemies behind corner can see it jolly-swinging.

Such thing would be sold on millions.
