Is the Centurion 7/1 bad or am I a bot?

Now I wasn't a pro in the Centurion I but I did manage to get two MOE's on it by the time I finished the grind and ended up with a 52% win rate, which really isn't bad for a low-alpha tier 8 medium.

I was really excited to get the Cent 7/1 and mostly because of the L7. The M4 Rev uses a similar gun and has a playstyle I expected the Cent 7/1 to have and I am doing fairly well in the Rev, so I thought I was in for a good time.

44% win rate and 1580 DPG later, things are not going well in the Cent 7/1. That 1580 DPG is about 100 DPG higher than my M4 Rev and there is a 353-point difference in their respective WN8s (1826 for the Rev, 1473 in the Cent 7/1).

I try and play it the exact same way I played the Cent I and M4 Rev; second line support med but it isn't working. Hulldown doesn't seem to work as everybody seemingly snapshots my turret and the first time I get whacked in the hull I lose my ammo rack. Lose it again and I'm cruising around with arty-like reload. And is it me or is the gun handling suspect? I find that the T-54 snapshots a lot better and I miss an inordinate amount of fully-aimed shots. Not that I am any better in the T-54, although that can be due to recovering from playing many games with woeful 183 pen.

Well bias or not, I do think there is such a thing as russian accuracy. Or some hiddenhiddenhidden stats that make russian meds shoot better than ie. leopard 1. That tank should be accurate as hell and even fully aimed shots go very often way off where I aimed... So when comparing medium tanks, you should compare them to other meds, not russian meds.

British 105mm guns always felt far less accurate to me than their stats suggest. Same with most German guns actually. Russian guns on the other hand are generally the opposite except IS-5's which has one of the derpiest guns I've ever used in this game.

From what i hear Leopard 1 accuracy falls of short on the move, therefore it actually need to aim a bit if its super aggressive.

Leopard's accuracy is derpy. Is the best sniper on paper, but zoomed 25x you will see that the dispersion is trollish: Cannot remember many shots going in dead center, panther 88 is far more centered, same goes for OBJ 140. Is not like the BC 25 T but is rather derpy.

The brits suffer from the same thing up to the ones I had. I hope Cent AX is better in the dispersion field.

The derpiest I have is the Scorpion G, but you have just to consider that the shell will almost always fall to the ground, so aiming higher fixes it. :P

The Centurions Gun always wasn't the best of the 105mm guns on t9 mediums. Also the turret armor suffered quite a bit when the 7/1 got the hd-model if I recall correctly.

The Centurion is still an acceptable t9 medium but it has fallen behind quite a bit recently, especially considering how much love the PTA got in recent patches.

Perhaps it's personal play style? I'm not judging, as heaven knows my stats aren't high enough for me to talk with any degree of authority on the subject. However, the 7/1 is one if my favourite and best performing tanks. Whilst my win rate in the 7/1 is low, at around 47%, there are few tanks in my garage that allow me to consistently deal as much damage. It's not rare for me to inflict 4k-5k damage in it, which for a tomato like me, shows how well the 7/1 can perform and carry.

So many contradictions in that post.... if 47% WR in it is a show of how well as you say "it can carry" your version of carrying is somewhat different to mine. It's nice that you have found a tank you enjoy though. For me it could do with a mobility buff and definitely a ROF buff, it is a seriously nice looking tank though.

I think what he's saying isn't so much that he's particularly good with the tank (albeit better than with most of his other tanks), but he can see carry potential in it even if he doesn't manage it himself.

Can't one say that about all tanks, "I'm not good enough to carry in this particular tank but I'm sure someone could"........ it's a bit of a nonsense to say it unless you can actually do it.

I don't think you have to personally be able to carry consistently in order to see a tank's carry potential; there are tanks that I personally don't do well in but am well aware a better player could make it shine, not just because it's a better player who does well in any tank but because I can identify a vehicle's strengths even if I'm not quite sure how to use them to their best effect myself.

As frustrating as the gun can be, spamming HESH never gets old. I'm still annoyed they replaced it with HEAT on the tier X. :sceptic:
