I hope the change in my attitude to the game sparks something in others that are struggling.

I've been playing for a very long time (>4yrs) and for the last few years had been getting ever so slowly better (+1wn8 per week) at this game with predominantly green stats, some weeks better some weeks worse.  However, sometime last summer I finally went blue which was my goal in this game.   From that very moment I simply failed all of the time, I also started playing arty and TX games more and more, the result was I went back to green and sinking rapidly towards even a lower colour in both stats and fun.

Over the last 1000 games ive played less and less with the occasional couple of day break from the game and switching it off if i wasnt having fun, ive dropped to T6/T7 games as T8 simply sucks and I suck at TX.

The results have been spectacular for me, im winning far more and have a much more positive attitude in the game, im even being less abusive in chat (which i miss). I think im still over 60% over the last 1K games as well....  All solo i may add.

Sooo...... t5 and t6 sealclubbing is more enjoyable than getting screwed by the mm on t8 constantly and facing balanced tanks like the Maus, the Type 5 and the 907 on t10? Who would have thought that?

On a more serious note, I have noticed a similar thing. I seem to find T9 and T7 most enjoyable these days while ignoring T8 and T10.

I would hardly call it seal clubbing for me, i have to play well every game!  If you dont play t5/t6/t7 you would be surprised to see that in general the player ability is similar to that at the top 3 tiers.

What makes T9 more enjoyable than T10?

I have a suspicion that XVM don't have the Defender in their expected value tables (they use an old / modified version).

You can still get bonus xp from shooting higher tiers and can stomp tanks one tier lower depending on the tank used and ofc your skill. It's a really nice sweet spot MM wise.

Is it seal clubbing at tier 6?  a lot of people have to pay there to earn credits.

With the new MM you're pretty much guaranteed tier X tanks in your MM if you play at peak times. So with tier 9, you're pretty competitive against them and you're going to be in a good position against the other tier 9's and all of the tier 8's. That's before you're even put as top tier.

IMHO tier 9 and tier 7 and the best options at the moment if you want to spread the risk of outcomes from the new MM.

Long story short: If you don't like a certain tier, play another tier.

Makes sense. ;)

I too find T9 probably the best tier there is. You won't get shafted by MM and matched against 2 tiers higher so you'll always stay competitive, but on the other hand you won't have to always be the big dog who carries your team so you can on occasion stay a bit on the sidelines and support your own TX tanks.

While your having fun in Tier 6 and 7, some poor players will be getting rekt again and again as they try to grind their way through either for credits or for XP. Either you have fun, or they have fun. Can't have it both ways. So do you enjoy sealclubbing?

You'll want to pull back before you get shot. :hiding:

Seriousness aside, if you've found your sweet spot in tier VI-VII that's cool. I prefer higher tiers myself but I can see how they can be too frustrating to be worth bothering with for some.

Sealclubbing is generally done at tier V and below. Just because OP likes mid tiers more than high tiers doesn't mean he's actively clubbing for the sake of clubbing. Everyone can play whatever he wants; fresh tomatoes can roll around in tier VIII premiums and fail their way to tier X, and more experienced players are free to play tier I if that's what they're into. Or are you going to tell me that once someone passes a certain battle count he's no longer allowed in certain tiers and can kiss any premium tanks he owns in those tiers goodbye?

I'm about to embark on a 100 battle journey in tier VI to see what MM is like down there, so I suggest you get some tissues in advance.

Its that MM allows Tier VI tanks to see Tier IV tanks, who have next to no chance (bar the one below).

I look forward to meeting you in Tier VI! Out of all the Tier IV tanks, the only one I play regularly is the Matilda, and that packs 121mm of AP penetration! More than enough for most Tier VI tanks :P

There are more than a few decent Tier 4 TDs
