The ability to buy & use Premium time in less than 24hr slots?

The idea being you buy them in much the same way as you can buy personal reserves and then activate them at a time of your choosing.

Reason being is I'm sat here today wanting a bit of Premium time, but I'm loathe to pay for 24hr when I'll only be using about 6hr - just seems a bit of a waste.

 Thoughts?

Okay, you can now buy 6 hours of prem time for 1,09€. Happy?

you mean like when you rent a car for 24 hours and only use the car for 6 hours then by your logic you should be able to use the car in 4 days for for 6 hours every day..

Uh, isn't that basically what personal reserves are?

50% extra combat XP for 1 etc.

It is, but they obviously stack with premium time, so it is beneficial to have both.

The principal is the same, yes.

Why shouldn't you be able to rent a car by the hour?

There are plenty of other things you can rent by the hour.

If you're only going to play for six hours then that's how long you're paying for. The question is do you think it's worth it?

Well that really proves my point. You think 1,09€ is a good price for 6 hours of prem time but that is currently the exact price for 24 hours of prem time so why complain? You look at this from the wrong perspective. Would you also be happy if WG sold it as 6 hours of premium for 1,09€ with an extra 18 hours for free? It should be ok because the price does not seem to be the issue here.

Thats kind of the point. If we could buy premium time in 2, 4, 6 hour denominations etc. then there is no reason to buy the more expensive 24 hour premium package. Since we only use a fraction of that 24 hour premium package but we have to pay a bad gold conversion rate for it, WG makes a profit, which is what its all about. This is also the reason why bigger packages, while costing more, are more cost efficient. The more premium time you waste by buying a bigger bundle, the more profit WG can make since we waste more of the time, but we have bought the bigger packages because they are cheaper per premium hour.

For example, here are 2 premium time packages:

7 days of premium package is 1250 gold, at about 178.6 gold per day

1 day of premium package is 250 gold, at exactly 250 gold per day

See which one is the sensible choice? And yet while the 7 days package is far cheaper per day, we are also more likely to waste the premium time we have bought, meaning that we cannot complete our grinds in time and are forced to buy more premium time, which in turn makes WG more profit. Trust me, if premium time came in handy 2 hour packages, there would be very little incentive to buy any other package unless the gold per day rates are insanely good.

Pretty much this.

Most players aren't able to fully use that premtime... and that is basically the whole concept behind it.

I think there's also the more subtle part that it encourages you to play more.

So say £1 for 6 hours that's 16p per hour seems cheap to me.

Buy 30 days for £8.81, 6 hours per day over 30 days is 5p.

I play for 4 hours per day premium time cost is 7p per hour to me it's good value.

I had to dust off the slide rule to compute the above:)

True that.

I sometimes catch myself falling for that when I happen to get free premtime...

Surely the only thing that matters is the overall cost, and WG won't make it so it costs you less.

According to Noobmeter you played 600 battles in the last 30 days, that's about 60 hours, if you'd bought 30 days of premium you would have paid about 15p per actual hour that you played.

I pay for a month at a time and play maybe a third of the battles you do on a good month.  WG don't want to be losing money on players like me so they need to charge 40 to 50 pence an hour.

So where's your benefit?  Would you really pay three times as much to satisfy your OCD?

Well don't buy it then. The price WG charge is the one they think nets them the most income, directly and indirectly. Are you expecting them to tailor the prices just for you?
