What's happening?

I get lit up left right and center, in any type of tank. I have not been lit up as many as today as in the past year.

Got lit up in an Obj 252u 3 times out of 11 games with preventive maintenance, strangely 2 times I was hit frontally.

WTF?

WG is so out of money they try to force players to buy automatic extinguishers?

Fire keeps your crew warm on winter maps.

It also improves the effectiveness of combat rations.

If you don't use auto fire extinguisher past tier VI you are cheap or you know what you are doing.

I'm not cheap.  I'm auo fire extinguishers all over.  It actually reduces your chance of catching fire.

... and considering they are given away left right and centre, there's no reason not to use them.  Also TBH I haven't really noticed a massive increase in fires, its still a rare occurrence.

I never use auto fire extinguisher. I have special mouse button thats easy to hit when something starts smoking inside tank...

And when i still used it i HATED it so bad. its SO annoying to get set up on fire just before i die and my auto fire sh* doing its job... knowing i just lost 20k...

AFE's are the right thing to have on your tank.  It's not like a repair or med kit that you are almost guaranteed to use every couple of games, the  1 in 100 (or maybe more) games in which you get set on fire means that having an AFE is  better for you that a standard extingiusher.

Thats why i have special mouse keys and if i cant hit the damn key at all than its just a proof i need to have some sleep and that i have had one too many games for the day...

I already put some costly food on some tanks. And some get big repairs and/or big doctor bags.

It reduces chance of engine fire. Which is not the same, as engine is usually located on your back. Its usually fuel tank which cause most problems (T54/T62/AMX 30)...so its generally only about how fast can you push the button.

If its me, Im also fine with standart FE. In my experience I'm set up on fire usually when something is really wrong (surrounded in the end of game for example) so standart one is fine to me.

It was must have earlier when german tanks had catchable frontal transmition.

It's RNGsus telling you to finally give your crews some love and install some effing extinguishers in your tanks.

Seriously, you can buy yourself an Obj252u, and the thing prints credits for you btw, but you're still too cheap to install some basic equipment?

I'm cheap but mission rewards seem to keep up the stock so I can run auto on all my tanks for free.  :child:

I have never bought one, but sold most of them I got as a reward. Now I have put 1 into my batchat and defender, because these were the most problematic, but that extra mouse key is great one, will bind the manual FE to it. Thanks for the tip.

Besides, I have never noticed the amount of lit ups like a day before.

If you drive the same tank's often, you might notice it. As some are more easily lit then others, even with crew skills to counter it. Take the Swedish tier 6 premium or UDES. As they for me.. more or less go up on blaze when they take a frontal hit rather often. But on my other tanks I play atm? Same as pr usual. As in hardly ever.

Anyone who pays 20k for an auto fire extinguisher is a fool.  Seriously, stock up on that sort of thing when they are on half price sale.

Right thing to do only 10k when on offer or get a few with ongoing mission.... Always run mine with auto extinguisher not fast enough to realise on fire then hit the manual key:)

Pretty much this. I would suggest the op of stocking them up when they are on sale. It's rather pointless not to do your procurements otherwise, as it does get quite expensive in Au, Ag or €.

I always bring them along. Especially on my lights since they are very likely to be shot in the rear, where the engine is. There are vehicles where manual or none at all could work. But otherwise, AFEs are the prime choice.

Not only because they put the fire out on the spot but also because they provide the passive bonus. Stacked over crew skills, you pretty much are guaranteed not to burn, which again, others have said. AFEs are used far less than any other single use consumable.

The thing is that if you don't catch fire you don't use the consumable, unlike in WoWS.  So it is hardly 10k per battle.
