So I'm racing to a spot and before I even get there (I can usually get to the bush before being spotted) a Type 64 shoots me twice and no sixth sense goes off.

I cannot see any heavy or fat targets in line of fire behind me, a Jackson far away behind a house seems to be the only thing vaguely in line but I doubt he's spotted. In any case the shots seem to be spot on at me.

I have camo on tank, almost 100% camo on crew, Sixth Sense and Sisterhood of Steel.

Now someone is going to spot something I missed straight away no doubt, so please don't start with the 'noob' or 'tin foil' stuff. I'm genuinely trying to see how this happened so I can try to avoid it, and sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees and a third party can see it straight away.

Any ideas?

The first shot takes out your commander. No commander means no sixth sense.

See I knew another pair of eyes would get it straight away. I thought I healed her but I didn't till after the second shot.

Also as I have local language I didn't hear the, "They killed our Commander" as it's in French! Does an injured (rather than dead) Commander still have Sixth Sense?

That is my gripe about the native languages, they sound good but I have no idea what they are talking about unless it is clearly obvious, like a penetrating shot etc. Perhaps WG could introduce subtitles as an option?

This is greatest downfall of using a Western European variant of the Klingon language (a.k.a. French) with your crews

I have had a lot of situation lately without sixth sense going of lately.

Comander was unharmed all of those times so it could be a bug.

If he's injured he will only have Third Sense, so he can still smell the enemy.

Especially if the enemy eats sprouts

I use that too but I make a habit of glancing at the tank panel in the bottom left corner of the screen when I hear something I don't recognise. :)

Don't think of them as dead, think of them as unconscious. None of the commander skills will work when they're knocked out, including the 10% bonus to other crew main qualification; you'll see your reload increase slightly when a commander is out of the game, for example.

Also remember that sixth sense only triggers 3 seconds after you're spotted. After you'd healed your commander, the Type 64 poked the ridge, spotted you and took the killing shot before those 3 seconds were up, which is why it didn't go off that time.

I'd have no problem with that providing subtitles are optional. I know if I've penned something because I'll see the amount of damage appear next to the target. Glancing at the tank panel to look for a picture is a lot quicker than reading a subtitle in the heat of battle and I'd rather not have more stuff in my HUD than I really need.

No worries, always happy to help with a genuine query. :)

I don't know if you read my follow-up but it's worth noting that once a crew member is knocked out, you no longer get the benefit of any of their skills. So an injured loader means longer reload, driver slower driving, etc. and that also applies to skills and perks; lose your radio operator and you also lose any additional view range you're enjoying from his Situational Awareness, for example.

Keep an eye on your view range circles too, is a bit easier than checking the tiny commander icon on the bottom left.

If your commander dies, his primary skills drop to 0%, so you will see your green view range circle collapse to something like half it's diameter if I recall correctly.

That's my cue for whacking the medkit.

Oh yeeeeeeeeeaahhh! My... I just had a brainfart moment. You're totally correct! I never noticed it not triggering when the commander was hit (might not have happened...) but you're right. I already did it since I have to keep an eye on the minimap (play lights mostly).
