Now there must be plenty of arty players out there, I know there are plenty of haters:)

So was grinding thru American, British and German but sold most of them a few patches back, only got Bert and M44 now. Since recent patch decided to grind em again. So in your opinion what is the best nation to go down.

Expecting plenty of abuse re this post....:)

Us or ussr I'd say

I got 3 T10 arty right now and only one of them the 261 is still somewhat usable in randoms due to the rof

German to tier 7 and French. Lots of players recommend the US line for missions but they start getting long reloads (over 30 seconds) at tier 8 and I don't think it's worth waiting that long for the next shot with the nerfed HE pen we now enjoy.

The GWP (German tier 7) has a wide arc so less hull movement, aims quickly and is accurate. With rammer and food the reload can be brought down to 21.5s. The M12 (US tier 7) can be set up similarly but has much less arc.

French arty all reload relatively quickly but have lower alpha than nearly everything else. The selling point for me is their mobility as it allows them to move to make shots, react to the flow of battle, etc. Once I chased down an enemy Walker Bulldog, put a shot into him and rammed him to finish him off in my Lorraine 155 50 (replay, v9.18). :)

Of the rest, they seem to have either narrow gun arcs or low mobility or long reloads (or a combination of those) and I've played enough arty to know what I want from them.

None is the correct answer. You shouldn't pester the world with more arties.

I only have M53/55 of the high tier arty. Have unlocked the T92 but haven't bought it because have no interest in it. M53/55 is very nice arty for missions and stuff and the reload isn't that bad. Pretty much when you shoot and relocate, you'll be ready to fire when you've fully aimed at your target.

So, here's what I recommend from what I've played, seen and read about:

German tier 7 Gw panther
Us tier 9 M53/55 (M40/43 is very good, too)
Uk tier 10 CGC

Both lines you have now are good. French arty is nice too but not sure how much the stun mechanic/ammo change effected the tier X.

Can't do missions in the lefefefefe. It's too low-tier for the T-55A and Object 260 and the calibre's too small to stun.

For SPGs I am currently at Ivana, aka scumbus=SU-14-2, the soviet T8. Well, the soviets seem to have the reload going for them and nice chunck of HP. But honestly, I would rather recommend US line for the monster gun on T92 or the Brits for their firing arcs

261 is the best tier 10 arty atm, imo. Grinded the line before the changes, though, so I don't know about the rest of the line.

I am going to generalise a bit and suggest that if you like arty you probably like eating cake whilst playing. With that in mind, the best nation to grind will be the one with the most turreted SPGs. If you don't have to press the direction keys to aim your shots, you can keep one hand on your chocolate gateau at all times.

Yeah, WG really overdid the humongous Japanese heavies,

the gunner has to climb a chair to pull the firing cable.

I'll tell ya which ones I hate most:

1. BC 58 autoloader: doesn't affect my hp that much, but annoying as hell

2. british tier 10

3. tier 9 murican one, horrible machine of doom

4. Obj 261

5. FV304 and LeFH

arties dont seem to work with damage anymore

stun is rather similar even between the former light and hard hitters

if you take into account that the main source of income might be stun  you would be better of with the faster firing ones

GW Panther seems to work nice but thats rather fast and got a wide gun arc

than again the Gw Tigers and GWE almost got nothing from that, slow giant  and a felt  vertical gun arc of 0°

if you want to go up to the top  it might be actually the french that "shine" most right now, fast, small, turret and for t10 even an autoloader

261 might be on the fast/rof side too  but the way up to t10 you got plenty of  now not so nice "alpha strikers" that cant alpha strike anymore

on the other hand 261 is a rather large piece of equipment

than again the downside of the rof arties would be their trouble to deal with heavy armored tanks  since its perfectly possible to score 0 damage hits for both batchat and 261 while directly hitting a well armored tank
