Hi all

I think that the 85 mm D5T-85BM gun is pretty unsufficient to play at tier VII, it isn't capable of doing anything serious against higher tiers, especially since right now they encounter tier IX almost everytime. These tanks are just too weak built, T-43 can be oneshooted even by german tier VIII Skorpion (frontal ammorack). Their mobility, silhouette, frontal turret armour, as well as gun depression don't compensate for this issue. Instead of any buffs, I'd recommend an introduction of new gun, with high HE capabilities and of course weakened DPM, accuracy, etc. to hold the balance.

Your thoughts on it are most welcome.

T-43 is one-shottable by T5 tanks aswell, like the KV-1 with derp, O-I Exp etc.

I think randomly introducing a HE gun in the middle of the techtree isn't a very good idea.

The T-43 is indeed one of, if not, the weakest of the t7 mediums. But I think a buff should go in the direction of making it more similar to the tanks later in the line, to better prepare players for what is to come.

I think giving its turret the capability to bounce some shots, while also buffing the penetration of the gun and its dpm would go a long way in making it more enjoyable. Also they could reintroduce the 100mm gun that was removed from from the T-43 years ago.

You do have 122mm option with "High HE capabilites"

bought the KV-13 back about 3 weeks ago after i played it for 32 games the first time around. Played another 40 games achieving all 3 marks in those 40 games and averaging 1433 damage.

thats pretty good for a tier 7 med. i only bettered it with the T-34-1 (avergae 1780) but that has the 100mm. TBH i think they are the better tier 7 meds and are great as they are

I assumed the following is obvious. Well - in case of currently available 122mm's "high HE capabilities" I think you mean "compared to its AP shells", because in terms of overall performance... I'd ask you - would you mount this gun on your tier VII tank?

I quite agree with Sir_Bad. 100mm sounds very fair.

KV-13 is probably the strongest tier 7 medium overall. The only drawback is the penetration, but that's a problem with tier 7 (and 8) mediums in general. Otherwise the tank has pretty much everything: mobility, armor, and firepower, in decent amounts, making it overall a very flexible all-purpose tank.

I don't have the T-43, so can't comment on that.

Giving both a variant of the LTTB's D-10-85 gun would be reasonable IMO.

Well not anymore with the introduction of high pen, heavily armored tanks...it's the same as with the mod.1 - mediocre to barely a threat as low tier and a bully when top tier...if it ever is with the current broken MM...able to pull off an epic game for the above average player once in a while if MM is in it's favor as low tier. Now they even made the turret really big on the HD model....

I was going to say the gun is fine for a tier VII mobile medium, but then I remembered that I haven't actually played KV-13 in quite some time and that this is World of Powercreep so now I'm not so sure.

I thought i found myself a gem in tier 7....then came the broken tanks aka Patriot, Obj / Defender, Baguette...at least i had my fair share of top to low tier MM back then to be compensated.

Well, regardless of power creep, it's still a very good tank in its tier and class. Obviously all tier 6-8 tanks suffer from the OP premiums, but that doesn't really change how strong they are in comparison to other standard tanks.

I still play the KV-13 and have good games (by my standards) on it regularly.

better idea is to give them either the 100 mm or a similar 85 like on the WZ-131 maybe with a bit more pen or something

Better than the 17 pounder for the Black Prince... a 76.2mm caliber gun on a Tier VII heavy tank thats slower than a T95. At least you have mobility, but yes, the T-43 does need a buff.
