https://thearmoredpa...blitz-or-is-it/

It might not directly be about wot, but this topic is about wargaming and their shady and downright disgusting business practises.

So it turns out that they have released world of warships blitz now, only problem is that they didnt actually make the game, they just downright copy-pasted the code from another mobile ship game and are claiming it as their own, the linked article provides more detail about this plain money-grab, but the jist of it is that they couldn't actually be bothered to create a game, they just want to reap the rewards from it.

Wargamings money grabbing is just growing worse with every passing second, this makes me really wonder about the future of wot.

You make it sound like it's the first time a big gaming company does this, as EA does it at least 10 times a year. If they can make a tablet game the cheapest way possible. Even by using unity "asset flips". Then they will. As I suspect this won't even come close to the level WOT Blitz has in popularity. Even if they did it "right" to make it worth it. Some one already made it. Pay them, change the UI. Everyone wins. It's a money game after all as you said. The less they spend the better.

As long as the programmers of that other game got paid, I see nothing wrong. Other than Wargaming still holing the candle to the abomination that is the new Master of Orion :P

Right, a big company out-sourced development of a game to another company that already had something similar in the marketplace running on the target equipment and the other company delivered what amounts to a copy/paste with a new label stuck on.

For crying out loud, I hope that anyone crying about this never has a position of responsibility in any company.
